The not so revolutionary, some historians claimed this about American Revolutionary. Accordingly, they argued that the colonials rebelled against Britain not to change then but to keep things are. This paper aimed to counter this argument.
The American Revolution is considered the wheel of political revolution because following the French and Indian War is declaring the colonists and English as the victors in America, increasing intellectual concerns about individual liberties and displeasure over the British economy and "political domination" resulted in growing rebellion and protest within the colonies. However, the American Revolution was precipitated through the legacy of the volatile parliamentary measure, Puritan Ethic, and the democratic philosophies and intellectualism of the New World that lead to the growing resistance to British control and importantly the formation of the democracy of the United States of America. The American Revolution was an important event in the history of western politics that brought the ingrained political Parliamentary, oppressive economic and cultural ethics measure, and most essentially Enlightenment that enables the ideas of liberty and independence in order to accept and encouraged through a great value of the public.
Furthermore, the ancestral importance that was handed down from the "Puritan Ethic" was the main cause of the revolution increased reforms and taxes that the colonists felt were removing them from their freedoms, and then combines with the new philosophies regarding on politics and social theory developed into a serious battle for self-government. Importantly, The American Revolution is just the initial step in building a nation that would create a significant part in the world economy, world super and a crucial figure in international
politics.
The American Revolution was mainly inspired by the European enlightenment. While England celebrates the height of historical shift through arts, science and religion, American led its way to prosperity through the adopted developments coming from the far western part of the world. Henry May once told that there are four sectors that led enlightenment within America. First it was the moderate one on the 1600s with characters like John Locke and other American personalities making them known through their politically influenced works.
The Revolutionary America where influenced through the European enlightenment, but in some aspects. America reduces strength and changes the enlightenment impression taken from England, and the Enlightenment was weaker than on the other continent. According to historian Henry May there are four different sectors of the Enlightenment, first the moderate enlightenment on 17th century, stated the emphasized on the order and balance, these impression was the same with the orthodox Christianity and ending up working through the word of God’s way, providence and creation. The American Revolution that happened in 18th century, the establishment and abolition of slavery and the racism that followed it afterwards. This event inflicted huge effects in the United States, specifically the issue of slavery that lead to the glory Civil War in America, a war that killed many a citizen and marked the birth of new reforms. They caused several arguments between the nation’s leaders that resulted to firmer laws being imposed.
Before the American Revolution, severe inequality was observed. Slavery has been associated to the blacks. Racism, or racial discrimination, was observed, too. Laws in different states were established that gave unequal rights between whites and blacks, all in favor of whites. As a result, African-Americans revolted against racism and slavery. It was very apparent that the period of Enlightenment was a period that focuses on equality and liberty among the citizens. The American Enlightenment is the flourishing period in America in 18th century and related to American Revolution and into the European Enlightenment from the scientific revolution of 17th century and in the humanist period and throughout the Renaissance. The Enlightenment engages from scientific argument and practices on human nature such as in religion and society. The age was described through liberty, republicanism, and religion and especially from democracy molding the Unites States to its declaration of independence and constitution. The significance of the merging of science and religion leaved behind the concept of miracle and prophecy and through the preference for Deism. Significant people also lead the enlightenment including Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Locke and the Republicanism that would form in the United States.
These ideas became the bases or foundation for the political thought that have been used among the American Colonists that have supported that American Revolution. With these philosophies, there are number of movements and documents that have been incorporated such as the following: a.). On July 1776, America has achieved their independence – Declaration of Independence, b.). The U.S Constitution has been established, c.). Declaration of Human Rights, d.). French Revolution, and e.). Latin American Wars among Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru for their fight towards Independence that happened during 1800s (Wolf).
