Why There's No Radio Programmes Dedicated for Children in Malaysia ??
Why there’s no radio programmes dedicated for children in Malaysia ?? Radio was the main source of national entertainment programming. Most of the models of entertainment and information that are common to the media today were formed by radio. Radio present it consist largely of disc jockey announcing music, talk-show hosts engaging in controversial discussions and newscasters giving the latest information.
Most of the local radio stations in Malaysia usually only play songs that are appropriates to the target group such teenagers, adults and middle-aged listener. For my opinion about why there’s no radio programme dedicated for children in Malaysia because children more likes to pay attention on visual things such television, games and books. But for children maybe, radio is the medium that are obviously boring and they will not get easily understand what the DJ talks or discuss.
Next, radio station will lose listeners and indirectly, radio will bear the great loss. Anyway, the kids are more interested in watching television picture oriented and they will be more understanding with the situation shown in television. The radio can’t afford big losses if they fail to gain listeners who listen to their radio stations. So , children's programs will not and can’t get a favorable response from their listeners.
In my conclusion, the most main reasons that I think the possible answer are radio station doesn’t want their listeners stop listening through their radio station. Children's programs will only affect the reputation and percentage of listeners will also sharply decrease. Although, there is a set time to control air time for children programming, the main cause that will happen is that the children listener might not hit a target that has been expected by the radio

Radio is examined here as a shaper of generational identities, as a uniting force for the creation of' ''imagined communities'' or nations, and as a nostalgic device with associational links in our past. In addition, it is portrayed as a powerful aural gadget that stimulates us cognitively not only through our imagination; our creation of images or ideas based on listening, but also through music, which engages us emotionally. Further discussed is a comprehensive history of radio in America and its contrasting relationship with newspapers and literacy, and television and its visual component. This contrast, and the existence of the radio and the ways we listen have important temporally bound characteristics that are important in understanding times, the medium itself and our relationship with it as it becomes engrained or interwoven into our everyday lives.…

Since the beginning of radio’s “golden age” in the 1940’s, this form of mass media has experienced many changes from different programming, to advertising, to broadcast laws, etc. Beginning when the first radio station, KDKA, signed on in 1920 , it was quickly being picked up as a new emerging form of mass media. By the mid-20’s radios themselves were better and easier to use, and by 1930, were being purchased by the millions. Radio not only survived but thrived through the great depression. This would only be the beginning of its journey of change. Radio, like many other mass media, has continued to evolve to meet the constantly changing wants and needs of society.…

The radio had become a huge factor of communication when it was introduced in the golden ages after World War 1. During the 1920’s powerful transmitters permitted stations to reach much longer audiences with nationally syndicated programs. The radio had broadcasts that gave the audience a sense familiarity with newscasters and stars for addressing consumers. During the late 20’s two-thirds of homes in the United State had a radio. A decade later, Britain had…

"I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way". These are the lyrics from Greatest Love Of All song of Whitney Houston. After listening lyrics of this song, I realized that children are very important in our life because they are the happiness of family today and the future of our world. Thus, investment for children is investment for our future. However, it is not easy to raise children to be good residents in the future, especially in society today, children have chances to contact and use technology as television, computer, and phone. There are a lot of parents believe that watching television has negative effects on children, but some of them think television brings advantages for children's development. Watching television helps children learn and acquire knowledge faster, also helps children reduce stress after school time.…

Development in a young child is very important. The rate at which a young child matures sets a child up for the rest of its life. Growth in a young child mostly includes hearing and speaking; if those skills do not develop or develop slowly it can majorly impact the child’s life. Music can help to keep this development regulate or to speed it up when a child falls behind. Many people are doubtful of this process. If you look back to your childhood, most people will find that the first things they learn as a kid are accompanied by music. For example, the little tune you would learn would help teach you to tie your shoes, say your ABC’s, or do many other things. In some case when a child has trouble with learning something we try to create a tune to teach them. In most of your children’s educational television shows the show is filled with music. Children learn these tunes and in time the lyrics click in the kids mind. In time the…

Children have been an extremely common advertising target since the 1990s. Since children are easily persuaded and have vivid imaginations, it is easy for an advertiser to portray their product as the must-have toy for any child. Many concerned parents realized this, which lead to the formation of the CARU (Children’s Advertising Review Unit). The guidelines and principles outlined in the article talk about every aspect of marketing, from disclosure and disclaimers, safety, and newly added, the internet. They even go into description of how you can advertise clubs and sweepstakes. I think the CARU honestly has the best interests of children, however there is no way of protecting children from any adult advertising if they happen to be watching a program or a channel not usually watched by others their age. For example, if you are a ten year old child that is taking a sick day from school, the programs offered on channels like Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel in the early morning are usually targeted for a pre-school aged demographic. While a ten-year old would have more knowledge of advertising and understand they would have to ask their parents before calling to purchase something, they would be watching advertisements with products and services meant for adults. All technicalities aside, the CARU has created an extensive list of guidelines advertisers must follow when dealing with children.…
