public turned to the universities and colleges for degrees in all form of life. In the past a
university degree was a sign of honor and intelligence. The graduate would be treated like a
person of knowledge and would’ve been given a high value in society.
In the 21st century where the fields of occupations are wide growing there seems to be the
success mantra which is that a person who has a university degree is more likely to succeed in

world isn’t producing hi-tech and high-income jobs for these university graduates. Many of the
graduates are opting in “temporary” occupations which might uncomfortable turn permanent.

Steve Jobs; the Co-founder and CEO of the Apple Inc. the net worth of Steve jobs is
estimated to be around 10.2 billion and who is another of a college dropout.
Mark Zuckerberg; the most used and beloved social networking site in the world,
Facebook. Mark is the co-founder of the Facebook whose wealth is estimated to be
around 44 billion. Point in case who is also a drop out of Harvard University.
Oprah Winfrey; she is best known for her talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show’ she is
currently ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century and the only black
billionaire in North America which also happens to be a collage dropout.
Of the top 400 richest Americans in 2011, 27 graduated from high school but did not attend
college. Another 36 were college dropouts.
What is the reason behind the success of these extraordinary people? Are the from another
