The purpose of it was to help people from other colonies and the colonies themselves, some people even gave food and supplies to Boston. Another major purpose of it was to determine uphold colonial rights and helped put together things for the future of independent government, they called on each colony to begin training troops.
The first continental congress had two accomplishments.
The first one was a compact among the colonies to Boycott British goods beginning on december first in 1774. The first Indies were threatened with a boycott unless the islands agreed to non-importation of British goods.
