Why Was The Virgin Mary Never Sinned?
The Virgin Mary never sinned. She was without sin because God needed a perfect person to carry his son, Jesus. God sent his only son Jesus to save us from sin. When Arch Angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her of Gods will she answered him by saying, “may it be done to me according to your word.” (1Luke 1:31-38 Bible.) Mary by saying yes to God’s plan, “contributed greatly to Christ’s redemptive mission.” (pg5. Beginning Apologetics 6). She was considered the “Second Eve,” while Jesus, her son, was considered the “ New Adam.” (pg5. Beginning Apologetics 6). Mary by carrying Jesus, and Jesus by giving his life up untied the knot that Adam and Eve had tied in the beginning of time. Throughout this essay, I will explain to you how Mary stayed …show more content…
But, if Mary gave birth to Jesus wouldn’t she have had to have intimate relations with a man? When Gabriel came to Mary and proposed Gods plan to her, she asked Gabriel the same question and Gabriel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.”(1Luke 1:31-38 Bible). This means, that Mary would not have had to have any intimate relations with a man. Therefore, Mary remained a virgin throughout her whole life. “Many people believe this doctrine downgrades sex in marriage,” (Pg15. Beginning Apologetics 6) but Mary was the Mother of God. If Mary was the Mother of God, and Jesus father is God, then technically she was married to the God. And throughs the Holy Spirit God was able to make Mary conceive. The Holy Spirit is not a physical person, though. If the Holy Spirit is not a person, then Mary must have conceived Jesus immaculately. The birth of Christ is considered the Virgin Birth because “Mary conceived Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit…The Virgin Birth is also an implicit proclamation of the divinity of Jesus Christ.”(Pg87. The Mystery of Redemption and Christian Discipleship). The way I think of how Mary was able to conceive is by, God came up with the idea and used the Holy Spirit to put into action his plan. It’s so important to understand that Mary was married to God and that it was through the Holy Spirit she …show more content…
Brother in biblical terms means, “something other than siblings.” (pg110. The one minute apologists). For example, remember in the Gospel of Luke, when it was the feast of Passover and after Mary, Joseph, and Jesus had finished the festival traditions, and they were going home but instead only Joseph and Mary went home and Jesus went to a temple to pray. When Mary and Joseph discovered that neither of them had Jesus, they went back to Jerusalem. If Mary had other children where were throughout this story? Another example is in the Gospel of Matthew, “Is not his mother named Mary and his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?” Matthew 14:55). James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas’s mother is Mary but not the Virgin Mary. They are the sons of Mary, wife of Clopas. Mary was either cousin’s with or close family friends because siblings usually do not have the same name. Also, by Mary not having any other children, she makes Jesus’ conception even more special and more divine. According to the catechism of the Catholic faith, Mary remained a Virgin from the day she was born until the day she was assumed into heaven. The Bible does not literally mean that Jesus had more siblings like the Bible does not literally mean that the world was created in seven days. I could say that someone I have known my whole life and have grown up with is my brother

Matthew reveals Jesus’s origins, it is less confusing to comprehend the second fragment. The second fragment explains Jesus’s lineage according to St. Luke. This family tree appears in the third gospel, there St. Luke explains that “Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age.” At the very beginning one can notice the fact that Joseph “was the son of Heli,” as apposed to St. Matthew version, where “Jacob begat Joseph.” As noticeable from the fragment, St. Luke does not uses the word “beget,” which may lead to the answer to the question of — how Joseph possesses two fathers ? St. Luke does not make the claim that Heli is the biological father of Joseph. Therefore, without specific information, one can speculate the true meaning of Heli’s relation to Joseph. Eventually, the fragment provides evidence to a different lineage in St. Luke’s family tree. For example, St. Luke questions Joseph’s credibility being ״as was supposed” Jesus’s father. In addition, the different order and names of the people who fill the family tree show the different lineage in this version, as apposed to the family tree in the first fragment. As a final note, although the family trees provide different perspectives on Jesus’s origins, they still maintain the acknowledgment that royal blood runs in Jesus’s veins, as proof, both trees mention King David as part of the…

She often compares herself to people in the Bible. When she was younger she had trouble with spiritual accounts. For this she brings up 2 Corinthian 12. 9. This scripture tells that God's grace is enough for her. Then later she brings up Job 1. 15 that says “And I only am escaped alone to tell the News(221).” This scripture is significant to Mary because she feels as though she was alive because she was chosen to tell of the events that occurred during King Philip's War.…

She willingly gave herself for the wellbeing of others. Webster’s dictionary states that loving is, “Expressing love or kindness.” Mary was constantly following the second greatest commandment of the Bible, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Throughout her life she always let the love of God shine through her. By doing this she touched lives with the love God gave her. Mary was selfless. She would be at a tribe’s beck and call day and night. She taught school, preached, doctored, and willingly gave up anything of hers for the sake of others. Tribes gradually began to know what love was because of Mary’s selfless love and they respected her for it. Once, Mary found a pair of twins murdered by their grandmother and the mother of the children weeping in a hut close by. Normally, the penalty for having twins would be the death of the mother and the children, but because of Mary, this was not so. Instead, she sent a pillow and bed to the woman and told her husband to be kind to her. The man took his wife back into their house. Such a thing never happened in the dangerous tribes, but the love of God made a difference in their lives. Another loving action was going into Africa, because she risked her life for people she never even met. When she did meet the tribes of Nigeria, she didn’t turn them away because of their man-made beliefs and actions. Instead, she chose to care for them and changed their lives for the better. No…

Why is Mary so important for just having a baby? There are many powerful women in the Bible. A powerful women is one who makes a difference and changes lives. The most powerful woman in the Bible is Mary. The Catechism states, “she be wholly borne by God’s grace” (“Catechism of the Catholic Church” 490). Learning about Mary allows people to understand Jesus more and shows how much courage and strength she has. Mary is so important that God sent other biblical women ahead of her to prepare the way. She also played a major role in our salvation. God specifically called on Mary because she was “full of grace” and because she was free from sin. Mary gave up everything to obey God and to follow his will which led to her being the most important woman in history. Because of this she saved humanity by following God's will ("Catechism of the Catholic…

Protoevangelium, this word is usually lost in translation, but the “first gospel” is what starts the bible and is most important to prepare for what is to come. While Jesus is often considered as the new Adam, Mary is the new Eve. Both set of people are the firsts of their kind, they came into this world and changed it, either for the better or worse. Mary and Jesus came to the world to reverse the actions of Adam and Eve. God gave them special missions, for Mary and Eve it was to be important mothers, and for Jesus and Adam they were important in guiding the herd in the right direction, and to call each one by their name.…
