In 1815, Detroit was considered a new city for agricultural land. Between the year 1900 and 1930 over one million new residents moved into Detroit to help with the booming automobile industry(u-s-history.com). In fact Henry Ford began his company there(u-s-history.com). Very low cost housing started showing up, so the new workers had a home to live in(u-s-history.com). Many of them came from other countries to search for work(u-s-history.com). If not, people will keep living in poverty, schools will keep on falling apart in all areas, and the income is that more youth will start being in gangs and doing criminal activities just to survive. The youth will keep on joining gangs, this will be a never ending cycle. Take a look back in the 1940s when everyone actually had a job and home. The city of Detroit needs to bring back those types of opportunities to the people especially the children but instead they are closing down schools. By closing down schools the poverty in this area will only get worse then it already is. The next big question is what are they currently doing to fix this big
