Why I Chose to Study Business

I started to show an interest in business when I first watched the reality show, the Apprentice. It helped me see business from a whole new perspective. It was far different from what I had imagined it to be, with the people dressed up in a suit and having meetings all day long. The tasks that each group faced each week were not just challenging, but to my surprise, fun as well. I always wondered how I would perform if I had the chance to be on the show. Would I be able to come up with a creative idea which can impress Mr. Trump? Would I be able to stay calm and solve the problems when facing adverse situations?
Last summer, I had the opportunity to be an intern at an international pharmaceutical company Schering. It was a great opportunity for me to experience what it was really like to work in a firm. I helped with the AOCR 2006, a radiology exhibition sponsored by Schering. I enjoyed every moment of it, and I hope that in the future, I could be the one in charge of a project like that. There was a lot of preparation needed before the exhibition, and it was not an easy job. Yet, when the whole exhibition was over and turned out to be a success, it gave me huge satisfaction, especially when I had tried my best to help out.
Business is a field where I could challenge and enjoy myself both at the same time. It requires teamwork and presentation techniques; it also tests my creativity and analytical skills. The satisfaction it gives me is rewarding; this is why I would like to pursue a career in
