The feeling of going back to the place that it all began was amazing! I felt like a little kid again. Though a vaguely remembered everything there, I still remembered many things. My mom had to practically drag me out of the aquarium that day.…
One could have stayed and enjoyed this show, which runs for 45 minutes, with the many constellations of stars and shapes depicting the signs of our astronomy or birth signs, as well as the expanse of our solar system. Carter's have many rooms, including a library, space travel multimedia room where one could push a button and experience the earth's movement as if there was a real space-rocket lifting-off..woohoo! There were also the eight planets one which I am astronomically affiliated to – URANUS – Catastrophic,…
First off, something which makes this trip a new and fun experience is the space theater. The space theater is basically like a normal movie theater, but what makes this theater unique from the others is it makes you feel like you're really there, sort of like virtual reality. Secondly, another item that makes this trip enjoyable is the shell finding, where you could uncover unique fossils and stones. I personally thought this was cool since I found many unseen fossils and gems in the game. Thirdly, the most memorable and brilliant place out of the whole museum is the car exhibit. The car exhibit consists of cars from the late '80s to the late '90s, which…
The movie 2001: Space Odyssey directed by Stanley Kubrick is about Humanity finds a mysterious, obviously artificial object buried beneath the lunar surface and, with the intelligent computer H.A.L. 9000, sets off on a quest. This movie is a story all about the path of evolution and how time has progressed. There are many conflicts that occur in this timeless classic like how man was created, the evolution on technology, and the rebirth.…
On March 26, 2016 I went to the 102nd University of Oklahoma Spring Powwow hosted in Lloyd Noble Center. The American Indian Student Association has been hosting this event every spring. It is known as the longest running powwows in the nation and the world. Besides that, it is a unique opportunity to express the beauty of the native culture. Personally, it was an interesting experience to me to discover the creativity of this culture through their dances, songs and artwork.…
I found the stormy night at DFW fascinating. Although I am quite aware of just how weather affects air travel, seeing workers struggle to cope with bad weather and in-flight mechanical problems in an effort to keep passengers safe and planes on schedule, was just very interesting to…
You can look through the telescope on the roof and see the rings of Saturn, or the craters of the moon. Also, if the line on the roof is really long, you can see just as good of stuff by looking through the telescopes on the front lawn. (6) BE PATIENT. The Observatory was reopened about 6 months before it was really ready - they wanted to give people the chance to get in to see what's there - but as a result there's no brochures or organized tours yet. Remember, though, the Guides will answer your questions! (7) SEE THE FREE DOCUMENTARY. There's a new theater in the lower levels (The Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon) that has a free documentary film about the Observatory. It's 25 minutes long and it's a great way to get some background information and have a break from walking around. (8) TAKE THE ZOO SHUTTLE. The Zoo shuttle is easy to find, easy to drive to, and free to park…
Another popular family trip destination is The Coca-Cola Space Science Center. Though it recently opened in less than two decades ago, this building had such a great attention, since the…
The place I decided to visit is a manmade pond at a local VFW building. When you walk up to the pond and take a look around, you notice that all of the shores of the pond that are in front of you are either surrounded by trees, or houses. During the latter part of the evening (I was there at about 8:45), you can see the stars reflecting off of the surface of the pond. This reflection on the surface made me want to look up into space.…
When I was 14 my stake High Adventure group went on a 50 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail which was one of the most physically and emotionally challenging experiences I have ever had. For six days, I had to carry my pack containing about 40 pounds in supplies. It rained all six days of the trip.…
Over the river and through the woods and roughly 4 hours later we arrived in Alamosa, CO. We waited till 3 in the morning for the sky to darken and made our way to the UFO Watchtower. In all honesty the place was so creepy that we turned around twice not knowing if we should follow through with our plans, eventually we found courage and parked the car right behind the watchtower and sat in silence. I was tired of procrastinating and convinced my girlfriend that it would be okay, so we stepped out of the car.…
Going to the Coachella Art Festival was one of the best moments in my life. I made so many friends and have so many great memories that will last a life time. It was a last minute trip that I will never forget. The incredible music and intense amount of art culture and creativity made Coachella an unforgettable experience and should be seen by everyone at least once in their lives.…
While I was walking with my cousins one day we discovered a trail that we never really paid attention to, we decided to follow it because we were just too curious to see where it led. That’s when we discovered the lake; we were so mesmerized by how beautiful it looked, the water had all these trees surrounding and the rocks weren’t like the ugly one like the ones in my driveway. To and my cousins it looked like it could be in a movie scene because how perfect it looked…
Nearly 50 shows are aired in a year satisfying a horde of about 2500 people who come to partake in the enlightening shows of the Nehru Planetarium currently headed by Mr. Pradip Kr. Aggarwal, IAS and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation. Considering the relentless thrive of Space science and its attributes, it is merely a distance of a few years when Planetariums will be the sanctum for an advanced outer space viewing of humans.…
There was only half an hour left before the most awaited planetarium display started so we decided to go around the Macmillan Space Center’s exhibit. Since my younger sisters felt the total opposite of my feelings toward the “Rocket Lab,” they were getting uneasy, but as they saw striking pictures of the galaxy, games about space exploration, and machines that looked fun and educational, their frowns turned into huge grins. My two fiddle-footed sisters, together…
