1. We learn that Winfred of Ivanhoe is the disinherited knight. Due to his helmet being removed by Rowena.

2. Wamba and Gurth, somewhat add humor and lightness to the story. Also, it brings in the point of view of a servant, rather than the point of view from the master. Gurth shows how a servant is caught between two feuding nations. Wamba is a peacemaker in the book, he tries to calm down Cedric as well as try to keep Gurth from leaving Cedric.

3. Rowena and Rebecca are both very beautiful and kind. Rowena is somewhat independent and eyes for only Ivanhoe. Rebecca is kind, and generous, for example when she paid Gurth back money that her father had taken. Both are positive, however, Rowena is in a completely different circle of society,
