Abstract

In this project, the idea of wireless power transfer has been developed. In the early 20th century before the electrical wire grid Nikola Tesla shows much of his work on wireless power transmission. As revolution is taking place, and technology is getting more and more, the idea of power transmission is also changing. The demand of generation is changing. So keeping the demands in mind, the idea of wireless power transfer has been strived to develop in this project.

Firstly this project involves the transfer of power wirelessly from the base section into the receiving section. A normal transformer, usually utilize a ferromagnetic core, transfers energy between two coils, through an induced AC current in the secondary coil. Without the ferromagnetic core to contain the magnetic flux, a normal

Md. Hasan Ali1, A. N. M. Mizanur Rahman2,,*, N. U. I. Hossain2, K. S. Islam2 1 Department of Energy Technology, 2 Department of Mechanical Engineering Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Khulna-9203, Bangladesh ABSTRACT Apart from the conventional cooling, there are other methods that are employed for specific applications. Evaporative cooling comes under this category. This type of cooling has a great potential to provide thermal comfort in places where humidity is low. A way to solve this problem of high humidity is to use dehumidifiers for preconditioning the process air. Desiccant evaporative cooling (DEC) system has been proposed as energy saving alternatives to conventional cooling systems. In desiccant cooling, the air is first dehumidified before its temperature is reduced by evaporative cooling. Desiccant materials remove moisture from humid air, when air is passes through the desiccant. Use of solid desiccants offer several designs and performance advantages over liquid desiccants, when solar energy is used for regeneration. This paper presents the outcome of a solid desiccant evaporative cooling system (DEC) that can be used in moderate humid climates by coupling desiccant dehumidification equipment to evaporative coolers. Silica gel is used as desiccant in the present system. The rates of cooling and dehumidification were assessed under the effects of variables such as air temperature and humidity. The constructed solid desiccant cooling system could reduce the outlet air temperature up to a maximum of 9°C and the relative humidity of the room also decreases gradually. Keywords: Evaporative cooling, solid desiccant, desiccant cooling, relative humidity improvement was made in this system by using desiccant solution [1]. The more important…

We live in a world of technological advancement. New technologies emerge each and every day to make our life simpler. Despite all these, we still rely on the classical and conventional wire system to charge our everyday use low power devices such as mobile phones, digital camera etc. and even mid power devices such as laptops. The conventional wire system creates a mess when it comes to charging several devices simultaneously. It also takes up a lot of electric sockets and not to mention the fact that teach device has its own design for the charging port. At this point a question might arise. What if a single device can be used to charge these devices simultaneously without the use of wires and not creating a mess in the process?‖ We gave it a thought and came up with an idea. The solution to all these dilemma lies with inductive coupling, a simple and effective way of transferring power wirelessly. Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) is the efficient transmission of electric power from one point to another trough vacuum or an atmosphere without the use of wire or any other substance. This can be used for applications where either an instantaneous amount or a continuous delivery of energy is needed, but where conventional wires are unaffordable, inconvenient, expensive, hazardous, unwanted or impossible. The power can be transmitted using Inductive coupling for short range, Resonant Induction for mid range and Electromagnetic wave power transfer for high range. WPT is a technology that can transport power to locations, which are otherwise not possible or impractical to reach. Charging low power devices and eventually mid power devices by means of inductive coupling could be the next big thing.…

Wireless power transmission is the transmission of electrical energy from a power source to an electrical load without man-made conductors. Wireless transmission is useful in cases where interconnecting wires are inconvenient, hazardous, or impossible. So a study was made on the investigation of wireless power transmission by near-field coupling from the view point of the antennas. Mainly the antennas are of two types - dipole and loop antennas – and were used as the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna for electrical near-field coupling and for magnetic near-field coupling, respectively. The relationships among the power-transmission efficiency and the antennas ' geometries, the antennas ' electrical sizes, the impedance matching of the antennas, and the ohmic losses in the antennas and the impedance-matching circuits were clarified. This technology has been widely applied, from the wireless charging of electronic devices to huge projects, such as the solar-power satellite system. The most important challenge is to maintain higher power-transmission efficiency over longer transmission distances which was strictly defined as the ratio of the received power at the receiving antenna and the input power at the transmitting antenna. Several observations were obtained, demonstrating the influence on the power-transmission efficiency of the impedance matching and ohmic losses in the wireless power-transmission system associated with near-field coupling. A wireless power-transmission system was numerically analysed by using canonical methods, including a dipole system and a loop system, the relationships among the power-transmission efficiency and the antenna geometries, distance between antennas, sizes and ohmic losses in the antennas and matching circuits. These results and observations can provide theoretical insight into…

This project is built upon using an electronic circuit which converts AC 230V 50Hz to AC 12V, High frequency. The output is fed to a tuned coil forming as primary of an air core transformer. The secondary coil develops a voltage of HF 12volt. Thus the transfer of power is done by the primary(transmitter) to the secondary that is separated with a considerable distance(say 3cm). Therefore the transfer could be seen as the primary transmits and the secondary receives the power to run load.…

Most high-precision machines are positioning stages with Multiple degrees of freedom(DOF), which often consist of cascaded long-and short-stroke linear actuators that are supported by mechanical or air bearings. Usually, the long stroke actuator has micrometer accuracy, while the Submicron accuracy is achieved by the short-stroke actuator. To build a high-precision machine, as much disturbances as possible should be eliminated. Common sources of disturbances are vibrations, Coulomb and viscous friction in bearings, crosstalk of multiple cascaded actuators and cable slabs.…

In many situations a communication link between two devices becomes essential. This communication can be wired or wireless. If two devices are close to each other a wired link is preferred. However in many situations two devices are reasonably far apart. In that case a wireless link is preferred. One of the popular wireless communication technologies is RF communication that is being used in our project.…
