Woolworth's Code of Ethics
The business entity Woolworths Limited has developed its own Code of Conduct to help enhance the Company’s reputation by explaining how its legal, moral and ethical standards can be achieved every day through its employee’s behaviours and choices.
The rules exist to ensure that employee’s:
Always act in the best interests of its customers, shareholders and fellow colleagues
Meet the highest standards of behaviour and appearance
Comply with the law and with Company policies
Protect Company assets, information and reputation
Are respectful, friendly and safe
Conduct business fairly, truthfully and honestly
In order to ensure that its business operations are beneficial to both the company and the community as a whole, there are a significant number of compliance requirements that apply to Woolworth’s day to day activities at work, the products sold and the services provided. Meeting those compliance requirements is part of how Woolworths does business. Compliance requirements are many and varied - but they include such areas as Food Safety, Trade Practices, Privacy, Safety Health and Environment, Tobacco, Responsible Service of Alcohol and many more.

The safety of employees and the communities in which they operate is of prime importance to the Woolworths Limited business. Woolworths Limited is committed to managing its operations to protect the safety, health and welfare of employees, contractors, customers, suppliers and members of the wider community. To enable the wellbeing of employees and suppliers, the Company will work through managers and supervisors to communicate and implement effective Safety and Health policies and processes in accordance with the relevant Acts and Regulations. All employees are required to comply with Safety and Health policies and procedures at all times to protect their health and that of others, including customers, from potential hazards.
