Working “in the trenches” of the organization is a great way to improve leaderships skills. It helped employers realize exactly what their employees have to go through on a daily basis. They shared the identical work experience of these employees and, along the way, learn a great deal about what is good and not so good in the organization. because they don’t know their bosses. This process gradually helped that process because it provides the right environment to get to know them. The employees and employers really develop a personal relationship, due to the relaxation of the persona the boss has, and the time necessary to develop the trust.
It lets you see how good the communication is going from the top to the bottom. Having great leadership skills includes your being able to clearly and specifically communicate your vision, goals, skills, intentions, and expectations to others. With this program one will have the ability to listen to see how the information from the top is being received and implemented by the employees. And if it’s not being received the way you meant you can go back and correct it, because to become a great communicator, continually strive to improve your verbal, nonverbal, and listening skills. Working in the trenches will also help you work on your motivational skills getting the employees ready to have another great day of work. A leader is only as powerful as his team. As a leader, you will want to surround yourself with great employees. One will be able to assist others in recognizing and utilizing their strengths, gifts, and potential. Motivating others to their own greatness will improve the employee energy will move you forward toward achieving your goals and vision. Also with this program shows that you want to learn more about what the operations are for company. Great leaders continue to improve themselves in every possible way. The person who thinks he is an expert, has a lot more to learn. Never stop learning. Analyze whether going undercover makes a difference to the impact of this program
Being able to go undercover makes a huge difference to the impact of this this program.
Reading reports and management summaries is not a substitute for participating in the actual experience. The more that management can serve on the frontline. The more accurately those managers will view the business. If this program was done without any bosses going undercover it wouldn’t work. The reason the program works is because employer gets a chance to relate to the employees. It lets the employees get to know the boss lets them know their boss is human and can make mistakes just like them. It also shows the boss if anything is lacking in the company such as training because a common thing learned in programs like this is that people are often under-trained. Determine what type of leadership qualities and styles a leader would need to possess in order to agree to and be successful in this type of program.
In order to be successful in this type of program a leader would need to possess a participative leadership style. They will have to be open to hearing others suggestions and ideas on how to improve the company. Humility because the boss will have to sit and listen as people tell him what’s bad with the company. That can be hard to take sometimes and they have to be humble and be willing to take it the criticism and go back and make the appropriate changes to improve the company. Leaders with humility recognize that they are no better or worse than other employees of the company. A humble leader is not self-effacing but rather tries to elevate everyone. Leaders with humility also understand that their status does not make them better than anyone else. They have to have self- confidence because they have to leave the comforts of their own offices and go down to the production floor and actually do the jobs they hire others to do. Knowing that they might not be successful at it but still willing to try it. They have to have a sense of humor because it is vital to relieve tension and boredom, as well as to defuse hostility. Effective leaders know how to use humor to energize followers. Humor is a form of power that provides some control over the work environment. Dedication because it shows the employees that the boss is spending whatever time or energy is necessary to accomplish the task at hand. The impact for the organization would be great. The program builds trust, provides better communication and it also makes the boss more visible. When leaders regularly interact with and work alongside their employees it communicates a higher level of commitment to team objectives and a willingness to share the responsibility of getting the job done. Staying visible also provides the boss with an opportunity to model positive attitude in the company.
It helps fix any misunderstandings there may be in the company. It lets the employees know that their employees actually care because they are willing to come down and learn and do their job to get a better understanding of actually what they have to go through each and every day.
This program will also help with the morale of the company. The boss and employees get to know each other on a one on one basis. Letting the employees know that their boss is just like them a person coming to work every day trying to do the best job possible. And the opposite is the same as well. It lets the bosses know that their employees are doing the same.
