A working outline is an informal outline and is different from a formal outline. A working outline is simply a way to bring structure and organization to your planning process. A working outline can be words and phrases. It does not have to be complete sentences, nor does it have to contain a full CD. Once you complete a working outline you will be able to do a self-assessment of your needs. That is, you will be able to see clearly where you have adequate information and where you need to find more information.

3. You may use words or phrases on a working outline. Just be consistent and parallel. That is,if you use words you must use words in all spots. If you use phrases, you must use phrases in all spots. Finally, make the words and phrases parallel. If you use nouns, use nouns in all spots. If your phrases start with an “ing” verb then you must have phrases that start with an “ing” verb.
4. Lastly, put the Note card number/CD card number in parentheses next to each point on the outline that you intend to use the CD. For example,
