God is Three Persons My question is why do Catholics believe that God is Three Persons and called the Holy Trinity? How can God be three persons and still be one God? I am Catholic but I still question myself on this. I did some research and it said that God had described himself to us as our Father, our Son, and the Holy Spirit. They also said that God is everything and anything because he is the one who created the world. I think this question is important to me because I want to understand the concept of God being three Persons. The main element of this belief is that God is a single God, but each aspect of God is an individual. The Trinity is the main key to Christianity, …show more content…
and it is a confusing concept to most. People belief that Christianity is polytheistic because of the Trinity, but I belief that the Holy Trinity is not a polytheistic belief, but it is a part of Gods mystery. God presents himself as three discrete persons joined in one.
God’s form are very important, and have a specific purpose in building a relation and learning how to grow a spiritually maturity with him. One way to explain each role is sort of confusing, but God is our Father; the one we pray to. He is the one who created everything and the universe. In this earth he plays the role as our father, and he is the one who sets the rules for how we should live our lives in this world. Then there is God the Son, who is Jesus. Jesus is the son of God, the one who came into this earth to show us how to live our lives and set positive examples. He is the one who lived a sinless life, and forgave everyone who did wrong. He is the one who sacrificed himself to save us from sin. Jesus wants us to serve others and put others first, then he wants us to love them as he did. Basically, Jesus the son of God was a servant to others. Lastly there was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our guardian guiding us to the light that illuminates the path that God has set on us. That path brings us closer to God if we follow it correctly. When we are baptized, we are baptized with the Holy Spirit and it becomes our spiritual conscious if you want to put it that way. Everything ties together in the end. We …show more content…
are baptized into the Spirit of God and that is what motivates us and guides us to our actions and thoughts just like a conscious. It guides us to our walk to Christianity maturity, and we are to follow the footsteps of Jesus and that’s what the Holy Spirit guides us to do. Then comes God our Father, he is the one who has created us and set his rules and build our relationship around his. The Trinity is also important because it teaches us about the unity of God the Father, the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. According to the doctrine, they have the exact same nature or being the God of the Father in every way. Everything God the Father has, every power he has, the Son and Holy Spirit also share. People like to describe and compare the Trinity to water. The reason why is because water can either be in a liquid form or in a solid form, but in the end it is still water. They also like to compare it to a family. Like a family, there is a father, a mother, and a child; however, it is still considered a single family because they are tied together. God is very powerful and we can fully understand him, but the Trinity is even harder to explain and understand. Just because it is hard to understand, we still believe it is true because God tells us that He is three- in- one in the Bible. In the Bible the Holy Trinity is defined of three divine, equal, eternal, and distinct persons, and it is four important adjectives describing each of the members of the Trinity.
Any other religion or belief is not embraced of all four of these characteristics. It also states that just because we do not get anything, does not mean we cannot believe it. Here is a piece of scripture from Isaiah 48:16 from the bible that somewhat explains Gods forms: “I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.” This to me tells me that he is God, he is the Lord our God, and he is also the Holy Spirit. You can also say that we see God and His great salvation in the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, then we experience their reality by faith, through the presence of His Holy Spirit. There are many ways in trying to define the Holy Trinity, but in the end they will all mean the same thing and that is that God is our Father, he is the Son, and the Holy
Spirit. After doing this research project I got to understand more of what the Holy Trinity is and how God is Three Persons. I get how Jesus Christ our God came to be, and how he is considered our Father. He taught us how to act and he set good examples to us. He is the Son because he followed what the Lord told him to do, and obeyed his mother and never disrespected her. He is the Holy Spirit because of him he has taught us about faith and how it is important to follow it and stay on track. He is Three Persons for a reason, and that is to guide us through our life and teaches us to follow our hearts.
