XBOX 360 Kinect VS PlayStation 3 Move

The ultimate showdown in video games today is becoming a great deal. The Wii was the first to start the gaming systems without having to use a joystick. Today the XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3 have made a huge come back, by introducing the Kinect and Move. Though gaming systems may encourage the player to move, each device has it is on way of getting this to work. I will compare the setup, prices, software, design, and interface and control. The plan is to find out which system will come out on top. Kinect is a gaming system that uses a camera and built-in microphone to map players in 3D.The most a gamer have to do is walk, wave, and talk with no controllers. There is one part of this set up and they are done. The gamer does not need to buy any extra equipment to buy or keep charged. They now even have a mount for the TVs that can be mounted on the wall that you could sit the Kinect on. The PlayStation Move uses the PlayStation Eye Camera to track the wand’s position, and initial sensors in the wand to detect its motion. There are many parts to this system that can use up to three pieces. The PS3 also has a built in Blu-ray player within the console. On a scale of 1 to 10 The Kinect a score of 10 and the Move a score of 7. On a scale from 1 to10 for the setup of the Kinect, scored a 5.The reason being the first initial calibration is too long, but when he or she get it completed you should not have to do it over. With the Kinect there will be need for at least 6 feet to play. There is a need for a lot of space to play the games. This is where it loses points. One other thing that makes the setup so long is that they have to set up an account on Xbox Live for first-time users. The interface and controls for the Xbox is the winner. I gave the Kinect a 4. I gave the system this because it offers a unique way to

Thirdly is reading consumer desire. The victory of the Wii from the wireless motion-sensing controllers depends on the consumer desire. The consumer chose the lower performance product, Wii which had the wireless motion-sensing controllers even though Sony’s PlayStation3 and Microsoft’s Xbox360 were higher performing products. The consumer wanted to buy the user friendly products instead of over-techs. Sony was the exception to these factors mainly because of their intensive relationships with the developers, the backward-compatible technologies, the reasonable approach to prcing, and their relatively weak competitors.…

The Kinect was first announced in 2009 at E3 as “Project Natal”. The announcement advertisement included: A TV explaining that there is a new way to play Xbox and the new way to play is without a controller. The advert then introduced a kid he then proceeded to play the Xbox using only just his body, it then cut to a family playing a few games to show that the Kinect isn’t just for children but it can be for anyone of any age. The advert then began to show a boy scanning his real life skate board to customize the in-game skate board. It then showed a girl walking in front of the sensor and it then went to a video chat with another person. It then cuts to another family game which then showed it had voice recognition; it then showed that you can scan through the Xbox 360 dashboard as normal with no controller and still use the…

    Market Strategy Analysis

    | * The Wii has the highest market share (42.1%), but the XBox 360 is very close behind (41.1%), while the PS3 is a long way behind (13.9%). The XBox 360 has more hardcore gamers than the other consoles. Therefore, given its market share and suitable user base, the EPOC product should have a co-branding arrangement with Microsoft and develop the required software for the XBox 360. * The 'out-of-box' experience software will help people learn how to use the product, and showcase its abilities once they purchase it, leading to better perception amongst customers, and fewer returns. Therefore, the 'out-of-box' experience software should be included as part of the product. * The product should also include a development kit for PCs as the PC gaming market was large in size (20% of total console gaming market), and had hardcore gamers who would appreciate EPOC.…

The gaming industry has evolved tremendously over the past 20 years. Most of us can think back to the first video games we played and how astonished we were at what great graphics or unique control schemes they offered. It’s strange to look at how far they have come since then. One of the biggest changes in the industry is the emergence of two divisions within the industry; PC gaming and console gaming. Many people who don’t play video games may not make a distinction but there are several major differences between the two groups. I will be explaining some of the most noticeable differences between the two groups, such as hardware, controls and flexibility.…

The ps4 uses a semi custom accelerated processing unit that combines a central processing unit and graphics processing unit all in one chip. This chip is used to amplify the power of the simulation and graphics on the console. The console also holds several chips that assist in its multitasking ability and can be utilized even while the system is in sleep mode. The ps4 houses a special audio chip that can be used to support in game chat ability among other players and supports in game mp3 streaming. Thankfully, though, things have improved dramatically between then and now, thankfully for the software showing at E3 helping many gamers turn back to Microsoft Company’s side. The likes of Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Titanfall and Killer Instinct served as an revive for them. But although an online connection is still required to complete the set-up of the console. A down part for people that hate paying for Xbox live. The news went down reasonably well; however it did result the device being criticized by many gamers. The last big change from Microsoft centered on the One's Kinect hardware. Originally planned to be a mandatory part of the system, with the console not working if it was disconnected, the backlash against the Kinect, led Microsoft to confirm that the Xbox One would indeed function without kinect. Sadly, though, the company also confirmed that there would likely never be a version of the Xbox One available without…

Each of these systems has a different appearance and control system. The PlayStation 4 is a nice size, taking the shape of a parallelogram. Not too big and not too small, the console doesn’t take up much shelf space while lying down, and can even be stood up to reduce the amount of space taken. The Xbox One, on the other hand, isn’t a space saver. Reminiscent of a VCR, the console takes up more space than the PS4, and cannot be stood up. In addition, it comes bundled with the Kinect, a sort of webcam device that allows players to control their Xbox through the use of gestures and verbal commands. This takes up additional space. The console of Ps4 takes the win in this…

There are few professional sports rivalries that compare to that of the Yankees and the Red Sox or the Flyers and the Penguins. Well since the year 2006 when Playstation 3 was released there has been a much heated rivalry between the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. It has been a nonstop war for the development of the superior gaming system. There are many reasons one could say that one console is better than the other. In saying this, the users are correct. Each console does in fact have attributes that give one the edge over the other. As an online gamer myself, I do in fact own a Playstation 3. When one is in the market for a new gaming experience, deciding which console to purchase can be as painful as pulling teeth. Some factors that should be considered during the shopping process should be quality of online multiplayer, entertainment value, and most important to me was obtaining the most “bang for my buck.”…

“Click, click, click,” The sound of me tinkering with the PlayStation 1 DualShock controller at just five years old. I found it intriguing yet strange how the piece of technology worked. I could hear my mother’s voice in the background “Why did you buy him a PlayStation when he’s only five years old. He’s not going to know how to use it”. Thirty minutes later I plug in the controller to the console, connect the power cord to the power outlet, and start playing Disney’s Tarzan. My parents enter the living room in awe and my mother’s previous questions were answered. From that point on, I’ve been my families low-budget version of Geek Squad. We all knew I would end up in the technological field as a future career.…
