“Ho! You know that girl, what’s her name, oh yah Emily”. My ears imminently perked up at the name of my older cousin, curious to what they had to say I pulled my hood up and turned into a shadow silently following them to eavesdrop.
“Yah I know her, the ugly fat one yah” his friend replied. I froze up after hearing what he had called Emily, my heart skipped a beat and red filled my vision. Honestly, Emily has always been chubby her whole life and whether she may be chubby does not give a person the right to insult her. I could not believe what I was hearing, I started getting angry because I know what it is like being bullied, and I would not wish that on anyone. Each insult that came out of their mouths, my fists got tighter leaving nail imprints in my palm, my mind racing with violent situations. Reaching the playground, kids all around us were running and giggling through the grass, swinging and jumping on bars releasing all their pent-up energy. The two boys were walking in the middle of the field talking softly, but I could hear every word they
