I was ten years old when the bullying started. I lived with two elder sisters, a mother and a father; a family which resembled that of ‘Elie’s’ from the book “Night” written by Elie Wiesel. However, even though I left my bully behind, I did not leave behind my physical qualities which made me 65% more at risk of being bullied. It started all over again but this time even worse and harsher. I started being depressed and having suicidal thoughts. Yale university states that victims of bullying contemplate suicide 2-9 times more often than non-victims; I was one of those victims. After months of depression, I subliminally had stored up so much hatred towards the bullies, that I just wanted revenge.
I started working out using my hatred as my fuel. After 8-12 months of tough, home training in an area no bigger than a closet; my determination finally paid off. I became 10 times more athletic which allowed me to dominate in most sports. Soon after, I switched schools; as if God had been planning for me to have a real fresh start. This time my ambition and competitiveness were like savages without a leach; they allowed me to prove myself as one of the best in my grade - in sports and studies.
