Student Exploration: Water Pollution
Vocabulary: Bacterial pollution- Bacteria play a vital role in processes such as decomposition and digestion. Nutrient pollution- Fuels the growth of algae blooms that block sunlight from reaching bay grasses and rob the water of oxygen.
Sediment pollution- Sediment is soil particle that have entered creeks, rivers and lakes.
Toxic pollution- In our environment threaten our rivers and lakes, our air, land, and oceans, and ultimately ourselves and our future. Greenpeace fights back.
Water pollution- Occurs when a body of water is adversely affected due to the addition of large amounts of materials to the water.

Water pollution is the addition of harmful substances to water. Some of these substances are found at home. What household chemicals might be harmful if not disposed of properly? Window spray, bleach, dish soapand etc.
