Tony has a choice between living for Materialistic values like his father or living life for enjoyment. When Tony learns that Alice is leaving, he makes up his mind on how he is going to live and decides to confront his Dad about the issue. On page 77 readers can see Tony's point of view of living life;"Tony: I mean I'm not going to be pushed into the business just because I'm your son. I'm getting out while there's still time. Kirby: But, Tony, what are you going to do? Tony: I don't know. Maybe I'll be a bricklayer, but at least I'll be doing something I want to do.".From this scene of the play readers can easily catch his point of view on how someone should live life. Tony's changed perspective from making a living off doing the things he did not like, to doing things that he wants to do even it has bad consequences.
