Every year, students from all over the world come to America seeking to further their education. The number of foreign students that come to the USA each year has grown significantly in recent years thanks to all the educational opportunities that this country has to offer. First , not all countries provide students with the possibility to fund their college education via scholarships or financial aid. Some institutions in the USA have agreements with foreign high schools to reward their students who graduate with excellent grades by offering to sponsor them in the process of obtaining a student visa that would allow them to come to this country legally and apply for a college education. Another reason why students come to America to study is to please their families. Many parents in some countries feel that a college degree earned in the USA would provide their children with more recognition in their society. Finally, the main reason I think that most international students come to this country is to do more with their lives than they've done so far. Successfully completing a college degree in the USA often puts them in good position for getting a high paying job in their home countries. In conclusion, I think that this country has a lot more to offer in terms of education than most foreign countries, hence the reason why international students come here to…

The American Camp Association's reports show that 78 percent of their campers came from high and middle income families. Slate magazine claims that the average cost of a day camp is 271 dollars per week; with summer lasting for two months, this can eventually add up to a couple thousand dollars. Clearly, for lower income families camp can be viewed as a extraneous expense that is simply not affordable. Therefore, their children do not receive the wonderful opportunities that the wealthy children receive. Children from wealthy backgrounds are more likely to be successful simply because their wealth allows them to receive more…

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

Upper class children are more likely to spend their summers with parents, in a good daycare program, or a summer camp program. All of these activities are supervised. They also have the potential to be enriching for the child involved. Upper class children are also more likely to read during the summer than their lower class peers. On the other hand, lower class children are more likely to be in a non-enriching daycare program or left at home alone all summer. “Parents must find ways to occupy their children’s time and to monitor their socializing and web use from work,” (Hess). This can make summer vacation more of a problem than anything else for these…

The truly great thing about camp is that it encourages independence while supporting the parents' values. When my kids were in elementary, I was a single parent. I had a lot to teach them and I relied heavily on my family and community to help me. Camp was part of that community, reinforcing the lessons I tried to teach my children at home. And every time I hear someone say that my son or daughter is a "good kid", I know that it is in part because their camp helped raise them. Not only that, but camp makes the learning painless, fun even.…

A large reason for someone would be as it is the land of the free, you couldn't be persecuted for speaking your mind or any beliefs you had. I think this would of been a huge part of your decision based on your religion, so if you were Jewish it would be ideal or if you were Russian you could avoid persecution from the people higher in power. Jewish men and women were not allowed to learn any trades in Europe, yet in America they would be allowed to, which in turn ,earned them and their family a lot more money to live a prosperous life. I also feel if I were a Russian ,Jew or anyone else trying to avoid being mistreated and looked down upon then this would be a great fresh start, This would be a slight pull factor for many as well due to the social standing placement still in order despite it's best efforts to stop it. Despite many countries claims that your quality of lifestyle or job wouldn't be influenced by your inherited social class it still occurred quite heavily on the other side of the Atlantic. is You could rebuild yourself , no questions asked! many young people migrated there to get a fresh start, to get an opportunity which there was a lack of in Britain and Europe. the average…
