OVERVIEW
Zeus Asset Management, Inc was considered one of the largest private investment-counselling firms in the Southeast with more than $1.7 billion in assets under management. The main job of Zeus is customizing portfolios according to their institutional and high-net-worth individual clients’ risk and return expectation. Additionally, Zeus had an array of mutual funds that gave opportunities for small investors to invest in diversified portfolios under professional management, which could be impossible to create without large fund requirement. Currently, Zeus is considering which appropriate benchmark indices and models they should use in order to gain more accurate fund performance evaluation, thus they can improve and attract more clients in the future.
ZEUS AND ITS MAIN COMPETITORS
As being one of the largest private investment-counselling firms in the Southeast, obviously Zeus does have some outstanding differences from its main competitors.
Firstly, Zeus focused on relationship-oriented approach to money management for high-net worth-individual clients. Each employee was dedicated to pursuing the clients’ investment objectives and judiciously managing their portfolios. Thus, they were well known for its commitment and strong relationships with their clients.
Secondly, more than 75% of Zeus investment professional had achieved CFA certificates and MBA degree from high-ranked business schools. Besides, Zeus’s average employee length of service was more than seven years and all investment professionals were seasoned veterans with the average age of 44, implicating that they had witnessed at least three recessions or chaos time in market. Clearly, Zeus had a team of experienced staffs compared to other asset management firms.
Thirdly, Zeus appeared to be reliable and potential towards high-net-worth individual as well as large institutional clients because interestingly, 45% of the assets under management were separately
