TABLE OF CONTENTS The Beginning Pg. 3 The Flashback Pg. 12 The Attacker Pg. 21

The Beginning It was May 10, 2011 at Incirlik Air Base it was a very nice, cool, day with that gentle breeze that everyone loves. My little brother and sister were outside in the backyard swimming in the pool. I called my friends to see if they could hang out.
I called Trenton he said, “Nope, I’m doing a school project.”
So I tried Seth he said “Maybe after lunch.” Sounds great then hung up.
Then I called Isaiah and he said, “Nope, I’m busy playing battlefield, maybe tomorrow.”
It was around noon, and I was getting hungry, and I asked my mom Jennifer for a few dollars, with that money I went to the food court to get some food. I got some burger king; to be exact I got a number 9 the crispy chicken sandwich. It was amazing, the chicken was nice and crispy, and it was fresh made. It melted in my mouth it was that good. After my lunch I just started to go walk around, I wanted to see what I could get with my money, and also I was very board. I did not have anything to do at all today. I kept thinking this is going to be the worst day ever.
After about an hour I finally saw a thing that I wanted. I think it was the new fifa 2012 for the X-box 360 I had to get it. It was only 60 dollars, and I had 75 dollars with me. So I went into the store and I bought it, then as I was on my way out of the store I saw a bunch of new items that they just got. They had laptops, IPods, I pad, Kindles, Kindle fires, Nooks, cameras, and video cameras. They had about everything that someone would ever want. Like me I want all that stuff because I am a boy and boys love electronics especially laptops and iPods. But I was only looking for one thing right now, and they just got brand new ones. I have been looking for a brand-new laptop since my brother threw it into is pool, and

George R. R. Martin’s short story about zombies does not focus on the zombie apocalypse as so many stories and movies do in today’s popular zombie culture. In what can only be assumed to be a far distant future, Martin’s zombies are surgically altered humans whose brains have been replaced by a synthetic alternative. This turns these formerly alive humans into form of cheap, or slave, labor that is exploited on planets where most humans are either unwilling, or unable to work (Martin, 2008). Martin’s zombies in this story harken back to the origins of the modern zombie mythos. Those being derived from the African slaves who toiled on the sugar plantations of Hatti (Estes, 2012). I do not think it is any coincidence that Martin’s zombies are…

It was a beautiful July day in 2014 when my family and I were camping at Holland Lake with our family friends Kinsey and Lauren. There wasn't a cloud in sight and the sun reflected off the bluish greenish water. The air smelt of smoke and fresh trees. Early in the morning when the campground is quiet you can even hear the waterfall. Holland Lake is a very busy lake with boaters, tubers, water skiers, ect. Since that day was so nice there were a bunch of boats on the lake the waves were huge. Kinsey, Lauren, Alex and I were all pretty close in age but Alex and Lauren were taller so they get the outside of the tube. When we all finished breakfast I changed into my swimming suit speedy fast and rode my bike as fast as I could to my cousins camper, Alex. I had to wait what felt like 5 hours for her to change. Once she was done we waited for Kinsey and Lauren at ¨The Beach¨. Alex and I killed time by talking about how much fun we were going to have…

It is evident that the recent outbreak of the z-virus that is sweeping across the Asian continent has created a zombie epidemic that has claimed many human lives and continues to spread rapidly. The number of those affected by the virus is currently in the thousands and continues to grow by the hour. If left unchecked, this epidemic could spread across the ocean and into our territories within days. Seeing how fast the disease spreads and how catastrophic it could become if it were to enter the U.S., we need to take prompt and decisive actions to halt the virus on its path of destruction. Thus, it is imperative that the president of the United States orders our borders to be shut down, avoid any cooperation…

The myth of zombies has been debated for centuries and has brought about insane creative ideas about the unknown. Over time creative geniuses have looked to share their thoughts on the zombie myth through video games, comic books and television shows. One of the newest television shows that depicts a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies is AMC’s The Walking Dead. The setting of The Walking Dead takes place in a world in which a massive, fatal, and gore filled disease has killed a majority of civilization on earth and has forsaken whomever that is left to fight to survive against the flesh eating, walking zombies and the other people that are also trying to live. The very first episode, “Days Gone Bye”, allows the audience to share the introduction to the post-apocalyptic world with the main character of the show, Rick Grimes, and build a strong bond between the audience and Rick Grimes because it is both of their first experiences with the new world.…

The day starts like every other day does. The sun shining, birds chirping, but something will not feel right. People start to limp instead of walk, they are no longer talking, just moaning and groaning, and everyone reeks of rotting flesh and meat. The only problem with zombies is they are not who they once were; they are now creatures who walk around trying to eat anything living. Plenty of movies are created on the idea that everyone either gets their brains eaten or turned into zombies. Yes, most people think that a zombie apocalypse may not ever happen, but there is still a chance an apocalypse can happen. Just because people die in the movies does not mean people cannot survive in real life. Knowing the zombie apocalypse may happen one day, the three most important rules to remember are being prepared, maintaining protection, and staying aware.…

It was a gorgeous day about five years ago. My family and I had left to Sugar mountain to practice skiing for our upcoming trip. We decided to stay for the long weekend of Labor day. It was my first time skiing and I had attended two ski lessons already. The sky there was as blue as the ocean and the air light as a feather. My excitement was through…

Everyday is a new day for me. I wake up everyday pondering whether or not I will be able to get through the day without a single complaint. As I woke up this morning, I went straight to my coffee machine to make my coffee as I always do. What was strange is that every time I tried to start it up, it wouldn't start. After realizing that my coffee machine, my most prized possession, was broken, I quickly got ready with my signature messy bun and went to the nearest coffee shop. I was going to get my coffee. After ordering my favorite coffee at Dunn Brothers, I was not happy to see that they messed up my order. I went to my work and hoped that the not-my-order-coffee would kick in soon. This day has already started off horribly and I did not…

Today started like any other day. Mom came in and woke me up. I was still groggy like an old person waking up from a deep sleep. My mom laid out my clothes last night. She takes care of me like a king takes care of his people. I do not know what I would be without her.Once I got dressed and mom helped me put my shoes on. We walked downstairs and Lindsey and Shannon, my sisters, were getting ready for school. I walked downstairs to the first floor and saw my dad leaving. I ran to him to give him a good bye hug. Then I had breakfast. I am pretty sure that it was scrambled eggs with ketchup. My life is as hectic as an exterminator during an infestation. Or so I thought.…

I remember the day well. I was just finished with school for the year and sitting on the front step, the top half of me laying back on the porch, just staring. I was thinking about the small house my mother worked so hard for us to get and keep. We lived in row housing just outside Juneau Alaska. All of the houses were small and I always thought to myself, “Is this the life I am destined for?” My mind wondered as I looked up at the clouds and squinted because of the sun.…
