Abstract
This paper discusses three major aspects of becoming a police officer: job description, qualifications, and compensation. I would love to become a police officer. It is a good job even though it’s a risky job depending on where you are working, but it is worth it. It has good benefits and a reasonable salary. Most important is that I think it will be a challenging and rewarding career, and I think with my natural curiosity and desire to solve problems that I will be good at this.

Ever since I was a little kid I have always been fascinated with becoming a police officer. Doing justice the right way and making sure that people obey government laws the right way is the kind of job I would like to pursue. This job is becoming a police officer. In this essay I am going to write about three main aspects of becoming a police officer: the job description and responsibilities, the candidate requirements, and the salary, benefits and promotional opportunities.
Job description
A police officer is a warranted employee of a police force. Police officers are generally responsible for apprehending criminals, prevention and detection of crime and maintenance of pubic order along with community interaction. Police officers are generally sworn to an oath, and are granted the power to arrest and imprison suspects, among other procedures. Some police officers may also be trained in special duties, such as counter terrorism, surveillance, child protection, royalty or diplomatic protection, and investigating major crimes, such as fraud, rape, murder or drug trafficking.
