A Good Teacher Never Stops Learning
“A good teacher never stops learning”
When we say teacher, from the root word itself “teach”, we can gain knowledge. A knowledge that might help us find our ways. Teacher does not specifically mean in school. From the time when we were still a fetus till the time we were born and until death, we are surrounded by our teachers. These teachers that carries out the messages and the values we must learn.
The world gives infinite knowledge. There’s no limitation on what we should learn and what we should not learn. Everyone is learning and since a teacher is somehow a learner therefore everyone can be called a teacher in different and in many ways. Knowledge is somewhat a cell-structure which gives message to the brain in keeping its precious. Way back in the ancient years, I had an admiration on the relationship of Plato and Aristotle made and that was the teacher-student relationship. Great philosophers and mathematicians were arisen at their time due to the undisputed curiosity and eagerness to solve their critical thinking. An example of a good teacher was Plato, who taught Aristotle with his principles and ideas gained and when Aristotle had his new learning’s, Plato never found it awkward to learnt some things from his student.
We cannot own all the knowledge together. We cannot have everything in just a great flash but as days, months and years passes by; Little by little we are able to store the things that we have learned in our brain. Information’s may change but we never stop learning. We communicate and interact with each other for us to acquire the things that we must be aware of. Being a Good teacher, like life, is a changing process so with that we should not reject or decline knowledge. We teach and teach at the same time we learn as the generation changes. It may not be the same information in the past but it assists us to improve our learning’s. We are the teachers in ourselves. We train ourselves to obtain intelligence and moral principles. We,

Alexander the Great said, “I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well” (www.brainyquote.com). He was a man who knew something about both living well and about teachers. No man has ever risen to a place of greater prominence in such a brief span. Furthermore, very few could boast of having a better teacher than Aristotle. He has been dead for well above two thousand years, yet there is not an undergraduate student, perhaps in the western world today, who has not studied Aristotle to some degree. This is the quality teacher the author of this quote had. He had it right, in my opinion. This is the ultimate goal of teaching and teachers to enable the student to live well.…

Learning however, won’t take place just because one wishes it; the opportunity for learning must be created by the teacher. This happens when the teacher is knowledgeable and proficient in the subject they teach, when they have the desire to pass on information and skills sets to others, and when they gain satisfaction from helping others achieve educational goals. Only then, will they be able to serve the needs of the learners by “teaching in a way that…

Teaching and Learning are intertwined with each other to the degree that they complement each other by building on one’s prior knowledge. Student’s come into the classroom with open minds, and it is the teacher’s responsibility to expand their minds and fill it full of information, so that they can use the acquired knowledge to build their personality and broaden their thought process to help them solve problems of everyday life. When a student comes into the classroom they should be eager to learn and willing to build on the lessons they learned from the day before.…

We've all been students at some point in our lives, but how we are taught as students varies on the teacher and the technique. In the "Banking Concept of Education" it is stated that knowledge is a gift bestowed by those who consider themselves knowledgeable upon those whom they consider to know nothing, it also suggests that the thought of teachers teach and students are taught is old and outdated. I agree with Freire's "Banking Concept of Education" in that in order for a student to become a well rounded individual they need to not be suppressed but encouraged to learn and question different teachings.…

As someone rightly said, a good teacher teaches from the heart and not from the book. So, to take up a job as a teacher one must have passion for the subject he is teaching so that he can pass the same passion to his students. One of the important roles of a teacher is also that of respecting a student's opinion. A teacher must always be open to learn new things and he must keep himself updated with the latest developments in his subject.…

The teachers no longer merely the-one-who-teaches, but one who is himself taught in dialogue with the students, who in turn while being taught also teach. They become jointly responsible for a process in which all grow.” (Bartholomae 324) I found this quote to be shocking while also quite obvious. When teachers say “there are no bad questions” or “it is good to make mistakes” I believe they are doing this to learn how they can teach the information so students can learn best and begin to improve. With this dialogue, as Freire said, the student is growing because they are learning from their mistakes and the teacher is learning because they are learning from the mistakes of their students. This produces growth for both the student and the teacher because they both have information that they did not have in the past. I think I found this quote to be shocking because I have never thought about dialogue between a student and a teacher in that…

“You can bring a donkey to the water but you can’t let him drink.” This is a Jamaican proverb that I remember hearing my grandmother say over the years. I asked her what she meant and she said, “I can give you all the tools for success, but if don’t want to be successful then it’s on you.” According to Adler and Van Doren, “A teacher may help his student in many ways; it is the student himself who must do the learning” (Kransy and Sokolik, 2010 p.8). “To teach is to impart knowledge of or skill; give instruction” (Dictionary.com) and “to learn is to acquire knowledge of or skill in by study or instruction” (Dictionary.com). I do believe that a teacher can help students but the students have to try and attain or learn the knowledge that the teacher is trying to impart on them.…

Learning is a natural ability that is wired into many animals DNA; the way that humans should learn has been debated by the various educators because of the endless ways to teach. Teachers and parents take this matter seriously like Ralph Waldo Emerson in “From Education” and Todd Gitlin in “The Liberal Arts in an Age of Info-Glut” who created essays on education; and Billy Collins in “The History Teacher” entail for then and who wrote a poem concerned with the status of education. These people show what the importance of education is entailing what learning should and should not involve; a teacher should respect and have patience for children; a teacher should also let a child have creativity and lessons of the past.…

A teacher is someone who provides social and intellectual development in children lives, providing them with ways to conduct themselves within a classroom and in the community. In order for me to accomplish these goals, I will teach and attend to each students needs so that each learner will be able to understand and become successful. Who are we without our teacher? He or she is the very person who teaches us ‘ambiguous’ contribution called knowledge and skills. The term ‘defining teaching such as imparting, knowledge, and skill are often ambiguous’ is only looking for the right phrase or standard parameter. It is simple for the sake of formality (or just being too scientific), but we cannot deny ourselves from the reality that the real definition of teaching is that of a social process that provide the students tools to live and to overcome any situation that may arise now and then.…

Teachers are the heirs of Nabi Muhammad, to spread the knowledge after the loss of the prophet. Basically, in Islam, teachers need to tell the society about the knowledge, guide those who are lost, and help those who want to be back on the right track. And actually all Muslims are teachers, because it is our role to spread even the slightest knowledge to others.…
