A Midsummer Night’s Dream vs. Medea “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Medea” are both good plays, but “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” appeals to a wider audience. There is a reason that it is the most produced play in the world. It appeals to a wide audience because of its
Comedic moments and due to the fact that there are many ways to produce Shakespeare so no to performances are the same. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has lots of options for directors on how they can produce the show. Options range from the traditional minimal set to wires and cables to make the fairies fly. This is a good option for a director because if the fairies fly or float it establishes that they are above the humans and more powerful than them. Another way convey this would be to have the fairies ride some sort of exotic animals like white tigers or polar bears, but due to the uncertainty that and liability that comes with wild animals due to animal attacks having the fairies fly is probably a better option. Another reason “A Midsummer Nights’ Dream” would be the better play to produce is that
