Course Introduction and Objective:
This course on Organizational Development and Change examines the concept of OD and how this field facilitates effective change management in organizations. It also focuses on theories and models of planned change and emphasizes the important skills of OD practitioner, the process of organization development and some of the various types of interventions that should be employed to ensure successful change in organizations.
The main objective of the course is to impart to the students the value of organization development and change so that they, as future individual members of organizations, have the sensitivity, knowledge and skills to contribute in order to bring about successful change in their respective organizations, as and when required.

Unit 1: Introduction and an Overview of Organization Development and Change
General introduction to the course and overview of the issues; Definition of the concept of Organization Development and how it relates to the need for change; History of Organization Development and its evolution; Its current Status; Nature of Planned Change – theories, models and different types of Planned Change; OD Practitioner
