In Paul’s epistle to the Romans he gives us the foundation of Christian life in regards to how we should not only see the world, but also how we should act in a world that rejects the gospel of Christ. In Romans 1-8 Paul teaches us how we are not able to come to a saving grace through our works, but that it must come from Christ alone, and not only to the Jews, but to the Gentiles also. Paul tells us however, that this will not be easy, but we that we need to remember who is ultimately in control of everything around us.…
Psalm 139:7-10- God is described as being there for someone and always with someone regardless of where they go, where they’re at, or whether or not they believe in Him. He is described as always leading people while holding their right hand. And He is described as being everywhere and always being there for us no matter if we want Him there or believe He is there. He is characterized as being…
I have a Christian worldview. A worldview is the structure by which an individual or group makes sense of the world. Philip Graham Ryken describes it as “our orientation to reality.” It seeks answers to questions like, “How did we get here?” and “In what is our ultimate hope?” Ryken believes all worldviews are inherently religious because they reveal our “fundamental convictions,” particularly what we believe about God. Further, he believes we all develop a worldview, whether consciously or subconsciously, with regard to the fundamental question of origin, problem, and hope. There are many factors which contribute to one’s worldview, including one’s background, experiences, education, socio-economic circumstances and nationality. Of course,…
For over forty years, Covenant Christian High School has stood firm to the belief that children should be raised in the solid doctrine of the Word of God. Founded upon the love of Christ, Covenant aims to ignite the fire in its students’ hearts and bring about a new way of education centered around Christ. Covenant Christian High School represents the body of fellowship within its walls from both teachers and students, the sports, the challenge of its classes, and the effects on the lives of the students outside its walls.…
The scientific method is a tool that enables a person to seek out new knowledge, or correct and integrate new knowledge. It is composed of eight individual steps: which start out with defining a question, gathering information and resources, form an explanatory hypothesis, test the hypothesis by performing an experiment and collecting data in a reproducible manner, analyze the data, interpret the data and draw conclusions that serve as a starting point for new hypothesis, publish results, and ends with a retest. The steps can be grouped into four different essential elements: operation, observation, model, and utility function.…
The ‘goodness’ of God, as a concept, refers to the holiness and care that god himself initiates on his people, however the Judeo-Christian tradition hold that gods attributes cannot be a ‘concept’ as god is personal, and treats all living beings as individuals.…
Christian Worldview I have a Christian worldview although it tends to be on the more liberal side of Christianity. It follows the foundational principals of Christianity and does not stray far enough into any other sects of religion that I could comfortably say that I am anything else nor would I be willing to drop my belief in Christ. God is the creator of the universe and all that is it. There is only one God. In Christianity, there is the Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, all three are God, yet all three are separate. God is forgiving and loving. He made promises and is faithful to keep them. He created all that is wonderful and amazing. Our very first lecture stated, In corporate terms, God has ordained creation to be a…
Christian worldview is one of the worldviews that determines how a person perceives the world and acts as a foundation of how to live life. Christians believe that God created everything out of nothing and gave us life. Christian worldview heavily focuses on that key point and how Christians should live their lives in a way that God can be proud of and try to spread his teachings.…
The Christian worldview provides some essential elements that need to be understood, in order for this worldview to be accepted. These elements consist of God, humanity, Jesus, and being able to analyze what you understand about these elements. In this essay I will help you understand who God is and some of some of his characteristics. I will also let you know who Jesus is and why he died for the sins of the world. I will tell you why God created humanity, and the Christian worldview purpose is for humanity. God’s ultimate plan in the Christian worldview is restoration. I will explain why restoration is necessary in the Christian worldview, the solution to the human problem and what role grace and faith play in this worldview. Then I will analyze some benefits or strengths of Christian belief, what I find confusing about this worldview and how Christianity can influence a person’s thinking and behavior. I will also provide my opinion of the Christian worldview by letting you know my belief, and how I live my life according to my beliefs.…
Christianity is an ancient religion that is centered on the teachings of Christ. The history of Christianity concerns the Christian religion, its followers and the Church with its various denominations, from the first century to the present. Christianity was founded in the 1st century in the Levant region of the Middle East by Jesus of Nazareth, who is prophesied in the Old Testament to be the Christ or chosen one of God. This religion has been around since 4BC-30AD (the time of Christ). The early Christians believed that there were seven heavens, one physically above the other. They also believed that god is Omni-present, rather than enthroned in the highest heaven. Like the latter, Christianity was originally a movement of oppressed people it first appeared as the religion of slaves and emancipated slaves of poor people deprived of all rights of peoples subjugated or dispersed by Rome. Christianity was the recognized state religion in the Roman World Empire.…
In the Book of Romans Paul wrote many letters answering questions about the human world, mankind’s relations with God, the natural world and most importantly the plan of salvation. Paul wrote these letters to tell the truth, to tell that no matter what race or religion, we are all sinner and the only way to truly become righteous is though faith in Jesus Christ. In Rome at that time you had two extremes of people, the heathens, and those who thought they were holier than thou (Jews). In todays society we still have those two extremes but we also have a middle ground, those who are straddling the fence. Paul just wanted the entire human race to know that we are guilty before God for both past and future sins.…
"The purpose of developing a Christian view of the world is not merely to evaluate and judge the world, but to change it," (Boa, 2004). Having a Christian worldview is hard enough in American but add in the entire world and it can be a little trickier. Thinking Christianly has a major impact on how someone would do business overseas, in a global economy. When it comes to a Christian worldview in a global economy there are numerous issues that can come up. Different countries and cultures have different things that they deem acceptable; however, when you are looking at it from a Christian standpoint you may have to handle things in a different manner. Just because something is acceptable or legal in the world does not make it acceptable to someone with a Christian worldview. John 17:17 says that, "The word is truth," so when one is looking for direction and guidance in any aspect of business he will always know that the word of God is truth that he can turn to. Although the field of business has many negative connotations with Christianity there are also positive ones. There are two main issues that this paper will address. The first issue, pollution, can be view negatively. The second issue, job opportunities, can be view positively.…
In short, a worldview is “the framework of beliefs by which a person views the world around him” (Caner & Hindson, 498). Coined by Prussian philosopher, Immanuel Kant, it originally translated as “our intuition of the world” but later came to be known as worldview. However, a worldview cannot be summed up in just one sentence. Every person has a worldview, or a philosophy of life. Each person has a filter, or a lens, they use when making decisions. This is based on personal experiences and should also be based on truth, logic, and evaluation. The problem with varying worldviews is not every person or society uses truth, logic, and evaluation to form one.…
My worldview is Christianity which is the belief that there is only one God and that he created the universe and everything in it. We were created to fulfill his purpose on Earth. Christianity is also the belief that when you die, if you are a Christian and believe in God, you will spend eternity with him in heaven. From a Christian viewpoint, I intend to show through this essay how I perceive God, the human being and what happens to us when we die, the nature of our universe, where our knowledge comes from and how we apply that ethically to our lives, our purpose here, and my commitments as a Christian.…
