Entrepreneur Journal

Practice of Entrepreneurship (POE) has helped develop the entrepreneur sprit in me. Initially, before I studied this subject, I am more of a follower than a leader. I did not have any intention of being my own boss as I do not have any unique ideas to even start with and I think that starting a business is very hard and time consuming. However, when I saw my fellow schoolmates setting up their own business, being their own boss, earning a lot more money, the entrepreneur sprit in me seems to grow more and more intense. Also, I realised that I do not need any special or unique ideas to start my own business. I just have to differentiate my business from other similar business.
Through the talks, presentations and interviews (for individual report) with successful entrepreneurs, I have confirmed that starting a business from scratch is not easy but it is possible. Most of the entrepreneurs that I know of do not have any special background (being rich). They are just normal people who believed in their own ideas, dared to try and with their passion, they preserver and put in a lot of hard work to get where they are today. With an experimental mind-set, they are not concerned with trying new approaches and changing the rules in order to be creative. The experiences they gained can never be forgotten and they learn from their failures. If they can do it, I should be able to do it too. Furthermore, the hard work invested into the business is definitely worth the rewards like sense of satisfaction etc.
Through the group project, I have become more creative, trying to think of new and fresh ideas for business. Even if it’s an idea like café which already has a competitive industry, I have to think of something extra to make the café that my group is doing on special and different from most typical café. Also, this group project has made me more competitive, like an entrepreneur. My group is working towards getting the most vote and “investment” from the other groups,
