Bible 323-D08

Jesus had seven I am statements that are in the Gospel of John. Today I will be discussing about the statement concerning the Bread of Life. This statement can be found in a couple of places within the Gospel of John. In John 6:35, ‘Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.’ In John, 6:48, ‘I am the bread of life.’ In John 6:51 ‘I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh”’. As Mr. Morris put it, in that in the first century, bread comprised for much a larger substance in their diet.
The events that are surrounded this statement fall right after Jesus feeds the 5,000 at the Sea of Galilee. The Bible says 5,000 men, this is not including women and children were fed with a minimal amount of food. After he preaches he notices that the crowd was hungry, with most like the Jews during exile. Jesus fist asks Phillip as a test Phillip fails. He states that it would take at least two hundred Denarii worth of bread to feed them. The average daily wage at this time was one Denarius and it would take eight months to earn. That’s when Andrew shows up with a young lad that had five barley loafs and two fish. Barley loaves, at the time, was considered the lowest form of all. Jesus took charge of the situation by having all the people sit. Here upon us is an important aspect of this miracle that Jesus performed. He gave thanks. Thanking the Father of creation for providing for us. This shows that through prayer anything is possible with God. Philippians 4:6 reads, ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.’ After this Jesus withdrew to the mountain side to avoid the

‘I am the bread of a life’ is a discourse that is abundant with significance and symbolism. The mere mention of ‘bread’ would resonate with a Jewish audience. It is commonly associated with the nectar of the gods of Homer, or the food consumed by the angels in Psalm 78 vs 25. Thus, when Jesus says he is ‘the true bread’, the evangelist is aiming to portray Jesus as the ultimate form of divine nourishment, and only through him, can spiritual hunger be satisfied. This idea of superseding is further reinforced when Moses is mentioned. In John 10:32, Jesus acknowledged that Moses ‘gave bread’ to the travellers in the wilderness, however Jesus then claimed that it was not in fact Moses who gave them this ‘bread from heaven.’ Thus, the evangelist is attempting to deflect attention from the old ages and the past, and is instead imploring the audience to focus Jesus. The theme of replacement theology or supersessionsim is clearly highlighted. Bread traditionally represents the Law/Torah, thus Moses’…

There were two presidents in office during this era. William Howard Taft, the 27th president, was in office from 1909 to 1913.During Taft's term everyone compared him to Roosevelt, the previous president, and would always criticize his ways. People always talked smack about how he supported big business, although no one ever mentioned how he was the first president to protect federal lands on oil had been found. Also how he protected coal infested lands. Some people may say that he was a bad president because he kept the government from enforcing the 15th Amendment, which gives black people the right to vote.…

My case is the one of fourteen year old James Ingraham vs. his middle school principle Willie J. Wright Jr. James’ parents are suing the Middle school their son attends (Charles R. Drew Junior High School) because they feel that their son was condemned to cruel and unusual punishment and has lost his liberty as a citizen of the United States. On October 6, 1970, Ingraham and another student were called into the principal’s office. James’ offense was failing to leave the school auditorium stage when instructed to do so by a teacher. Once in the principal’s office, James announced his innocence against the accusations of the teacher. Mr. Wright was unconvinced and ordered Ingram to bend over the table so that Wright could spank him using the discipline paddle. Ingraham refused to do so, and Wright began to force James’ head down on the table. The assistant Principal, Lemmie Deliford, assisted Wright by holding Ingraham’s legs. Wright then proceeded to strike Ingram with the paddle over 20 times, resulting in Ingram getting a hematoma. The hematoma resulted in Ingraham being hospitalized and requiring rest for eleven days.…

A detailed summary of the principles IDEA, Section 504 and ADA will be addressed to explain the educational experience for special need students. To start, the term (IDEA) represents the Individuals Disabilities Education Act which was previously known as (EHA) the Education for All Handicapped Children Act. The (EHA) was implemented in 1974. IDEA’s sole function for its service is to provide and enhance appropriate education for children with disabilities, as well as early intervention and special services related to education and other forms of disabilities. Furthermore, The Individuals Disabilities Act (IDEA) has incorporated six significant focal points. They are (1) Zero Reject; (2) Nondiscriminatory Evaluation; (3) Appropriate Education; (4) Least Restrictive Environment; (5) Due Process and (6) Student and Parent Participation. As defined the Zero Reject principle pledges every child who has a disability and is eligible the right to a suitable education. Next, Nondiscriminatory Evaluation promises each child the privilege to be evaluated and placed in an appropriate educational environment. The Appropriate Education model assures every child with a disability receives an (IEP) Individualed Educational Plan or Program that fit their needs. In terms of Least Restrictive Environment entails that each child with a disability are able to receive and education in the same environment as a typical child, as long as the education is suitable to the child’s needs. Subsequently, Due Process is a standard that guarantees the family’s and the child’s right to dispute any portion of the child’s education. Lastly, Parent and Student Participation ensure the family and the child is involved in all aspects of making the decision to incorporate or create a program that is based on the need of the child.…

Music has always been a part of human culture and is truly significant to our being. It is a universal language that forms bridges between different cultures through which a spoken language cannot provide. Who better, in the 1960s, was able to universally speak to the world through a unique sound of music than The Beatles? The Beatles were different. Unique. They were arguably the best rock band that the world has ever witnessed, and they were able to change the idea of music in such a short amount of time.…

There are many roots and causes to evil in different societies, but is there a sole scapegoat to be found? When it comes to the Unites States of America, there is not one specific cause to our high homicide rate and other violent crimes. Many experts’ opinions differ on this topic as to why America is one of the leading countries in violence. Scott Coltrane states, “We were founded on violence and we continue to perpetuate it on one another” (Violent Crime). I believe this to be a false assumption based on historical facts that would be irrelevant to our ever changing culture.…

Jesus is the only way to Heaven, He is going to prepare a place for us, He will come back to take us to Heaven to be with Him; Jesus wants to comfort the disciples, and all people after them, He also wants to reassure them that whatever they ask from Him they will receive. John 14:1-15 is a passage of comfort, reassurance, and wonderful theological doctrine; John recalls Jesus telling His disciples not to worry about the future because He will provide for their needs and their future is secure in Him. The disciples still did not understand fully who Jesus is and they continue to ask questions about Heaven and God the Father, Jesus patiently answers their questions and in the process revealed His deity for everyone to see. Not only is Jesus revealing Himself to His disciples, but He is revealing Himself to all people of all time that He is the Son of God and the only way, truth, and life, and no one come to the Father except through Him. Jesus was not just the way for His disciples, He is the way for everyone, the promises that He makes to the disciples about preparing a place for them and doing great works do not exclusively apply to them, rather they also apply to everyone who trusts in Jesus as their Savior.…
