Johnson & Johnson background
Johnson & Johnson is an American multinational pharmaceutical, medical devices and consumer packaged goods manufacturer founded in 1886. From the website of Johnson & Johnson, the credo vale for Johnson & Johnson is putting the needs and well-being of the people they sever first. The credo states that Johnson & Johnson responsible for all stakeholders including doctors, nurses, patients, employees, communities and stockholders.
Missions
The missions for Johnson & Johnson as illustrated by themself is “ we will delight our consumers, treating each person who contacts us as if they are our only consumer, providing them with a response which is evidence of our interest and that leaves them with the clear understanding that they are important to us” (J&J company official website). The key mission for Johnson & Johnson is also the global expansion. Johnson & Johnson has acquired many other companies to fulfil their global expansion strategy. For example, J&J acquired Pfizer Consumer Healthcare which brings in heritage consumer brands such as LISTERINE in 2006. Johnson & Johnson’s products almost spread all over the world.
Human rights
Governments have the duty to protect the rights of all people. As a corporation, Johnson & Johnson has a responsibility to respect these rights, especially those of the more than one billion people they touch with their products and services every day, including their customers, employees and the people who support businesses. J&J opens communication with all of employees, respect for each employee’s right to join or not join associations. They also prohibit the happening of discrimination and forced labour of any kind.
