COURAGEOUS - BLOG 2
I got back home completely drained and shattered. Sinking my full weight into my bed, I laid on my back reminiscing on how the last week was spent.
The previous week was fun-filled, just hold on, it is not what you are thinking. You’ve got it all wrong. I did not attend parties. Learning new things at school was so much fun and this left ajar, the gates of my heart yearning for more knowledge. Well it was not about learning alone, guess what? I also got to meet most of my course mates, which was even more exciting.
Besides fun, it was also demanding because I had assignments to turn in. We were asked to write a report on the inner ear. This was quite enlightening for me because I learnt about the parts and functions of the human ear and how it works as a transducer.
Apparently we barely take into cognizance, the importance of taking good care of our ears as they can be easily damaged.
In addition, writing the glossary of terms, another assignment was somewhat tasking but thankfully I sailed through. Submitting earlier than the due date so as to earn some points promised by our lecturer, was my target because incentives motivate me to work harder and speedier.
Furthermore, the murky waters of confusion were flushed out with lucidity, as I gained in-depth knowledge of the meaning of various terminologies frequently used in audio, such as sound pressure level, frequency response, decibels e.t.c. Familiarity hit me as I walked into the acoustically treated room, an analogue mixer, an audio interface, loads of neatly laid cables, a stage box and much more. Finally we get to work in the studio! I exclaimed. We have a digital studio in Nigeria where I learnt the rudiments of how to use the digital audio workstation (protools). My lecturer taught us comprehensively on signal flow, functions of a mixer, how to create new sessions and record using protools. Do not get me wrong, I love the theoretical aspect of learning, but hands-on-training is a more effective way for me to fully understand. Daily revision back at home has proved to be helpful as it enables me to assimilate all I have been taught.

Kevinson, I have virtually mentioned everyone in my class already. We all are a large family, beautiful people with beautiful hearts and I intend to know all my course mates before the end of the first trimester break.
I am very optimistic, looking forward to a new and eventful week. Don't forget to visit, wishing you all a productive week ahead.
