This report aims to find out about the positive effects and negative effects of overpopulation in China . The report will also provide background to the debate , its social significance , identify the parties involved and put forward the differing arguments related to the views held.
2.0 The Issue and background to the debate
Overpopulation refers to a country that has more people and human needs exceed resources . As a result of overpopulation , rivalry will be exist among people because they need to earn sufficient resources . Overpopulation can also reduce the standard living of the people (Makama , 2011) . Besides , people need a big space to shelter all of them at one place and they do need a clean environment to survive.
3.0 The Social significance of the debate
According to Associated Press Online , almost 7 million people in China were increased around 20 percent at the end of last year, 2006 (as cited in Aldossary , 2007) . In other words, people will have to compete in order to survive and generally standard living of the people may fall. Thus , the question here is what are the effects of overpopulation in China ?
