Professor Ghazi-Ford
#1) Take a look at the material on sensation seeking on page 286 (Ch. 11). Do you consider yourself a sensation seeker? Why or why not? What are the advantages and disadvantages of your level of sensation seeking?
I do not see myself as a sensation seeker. First I do not have the drive to do high risk activities. That may lead me to physical harm. My level of sensation seeking is quite low. Advantages are some serious fun and the need for over stimulation. Disadvantages are Physical pain (hurting one -self), not being able to perform to the level expected (let down), physical and mentally.
#2) How would you rate your own achievement motivation? Why? In what ways is this an advantage to you? In what ways is it a disadvantage?
Men and women. Disadvantage would be not getting to each other as individuals and lacking feeling for my neighbors and My achievement motivation would be competiveness. In the area I grew up in is very competitive from tying shoes to skipping rocks and big time sports. This how we regulate and judge each other as classmates.
#3) What did you learn about yourself from reading about the trait theories of personality?
Got a chance to take a look at what was passed down to me from my father and mother as well as my grandparents. These are some of the things that make me who I am as an individual and as a man and father. When I look at myself as a whole I do understand who I am as well as where I from.
#4) What did you learn about yourself from reading the other theories (psychoanalytic, humanistic, social-cognitive, and biological) of personality? (List and explain at least three things.)
I find myself looking and thinking that I’m psychoanalytic always trying to read and figure and out others and I can barely figure myself out.
Also I know that we are a product of our surroundings meaning that if we allow ourselves to just live and survive and not expand our minds and thinking
