When these rainforests are cut down, the plants and animals that live in the forest are destroyed, and some species are at risk of being made extinct. Over a longer term, deforestation of tropical rainforest can have a huge impact affecting global climate and biodiversity. We need the rainforests to produce oxygen and clean the atmosphere to help us breath. Rainforest also help us with many valuable medicinal plants and resources like rubber, chocolate, and chicle which is used to make chewing gum. Many people believe the rainforests are a storehouse of unknown treasures that can help improve our life's but as a result of deforestation we may never find them. For example, in the future a plant may be a source of a cure to a deadly disease. As the tropical rainforest are being destroyed, our quality of life is being risked.
