According to the practical sociology theories, women in today’s society have yet to reach the equality barrier. Society does not see women to be capable for harder tasks, along with corporate leadership involvement, women still face discrimination in the workplace based on theories of a women’s role. Equality is a right for women and men, and women should have access to the job market health services as well as an equal role in decision making and it is quite sad but the human race has not figure that out yet. It all goes back to the ethical theories on how one sees things.
When looking at this issue in a deontologist viewpoint, one would say based on the rules and laws that are in place that for women’s equality one would have to protect the laws and policies about discriminatory practices. Deontology ethics are concerned with what people do and not with the consequences of their actions. Deontologist lives in a universe of moral rules, in which tend to focus on giving equal rights and respect to all human beings. Deontology is the study of the nature of duty and obligation, meaning that the good or what is valued would always take top priority over the right or the duty. A deontological believe that some rights must not be violated even if it would still produce the most over all good. Although deontology contains many positive attributes, there are also some not so positive attributes. Let us look at the deontology from a positive viewpoint. Let start with women’s right in the work place, is it right for a men to be paid more than women are on a job just because they are men?
