Either in the sense of acceleration, condemnation or simply the unsuccessful pursuit of salvation of his own fate, One may believe that Oedipus has certainly effected his fate to some extent. By trying to escape his fate, he has somehow made himself the perfect victim of his own tragedy. However we can not completely blame Oedipus of this tragedy because this would contradict the Greeks beliefs. Overall Oedipus is not the only person who has effected his fate, his parents certainly had a role in it too. But it is him, who ultimately had to take the blame for killing his father and marrying his mother. His hamartias such as quick temper, curiosity, and pride did little to cause this tragedy because o could have never escaped his fate even if he were a perfect man.
