• The war caused the disintegration of four empires: the Austro-Hungarian, German, Ottoman, and Russian.

• Germany did not increase their millitary out of aggression, they increased it because of a rising threat from Russian invasion.
Necessity for war
Therefore Germanys fears were justifiable. America's justification for entering the war - Germany's sinking of ships was ludacris. Americans were well aware that ships slipping into war zones in the vicinity of Britain inherently had the risk of being sunk. In fact, the only people justified attacking were the Germans. The American ship, the Lusitania, possesed weapons aboard bound for Britain. The Germans had no choice but to sink it.
• The germans weren’t the only ones breaking international law. Great britian broke it when it blocked the us from its neutral rights of free trade.
• We could’ve just traded with one side of the war if needed, then the us wouldn’t have to enter war zones.
• The government could’ve just placed an embargo act on the us ships. Loosing money economically is way less worse than to loose lives and risk future conflict. If we did do that, britian would eventually takes their mines out of the north sea with their need for supplies. Even the germans could have ceased their submarine warfare for their need for supplies.
• The public was shielded from the real facts of the war. Propaganda helped dramatically in tipping the opinion of the people.
• Newspapers could have been shifty by being controlled by munition companies, or any company profiting off of the conflict. Ww1 could possibly be the largest propaganda wae in history.
