‘Where I lived and What I Lived For’ – Henry David Thoreau Many of Henry D. Thoreau’s ideas are clearly seen in his piece of writing ‘Where I Lived and What I Lived For’. Through his work‚ not only do we learn about his experience in the woods at Walden Pond‚ but also about his values and the way he sees life‚ which he shares with his readers all throughout the chapter. In my opinion‚ of the most significant topics this chapter deals with is ‘the beauty of nature’. As said by Thoreau‚ "The morning

CLASS HISTORY Most of us would agree that the days we spent in high school were certainly the best days of our lives. Memorable ones I suggest. It was in high school that we made our grown-up friends‚ competed to excel‚ hoped for places in the sports team‚ toiled to lead in the student council‚ and yielded to take part in the school organ. It was also in high school when we first felt and experienced to love – puppy love as people say. Thus‚ it is indeed in this chapter that we learnt lessons

As I read selected Walt Whitman’s poems I felt as if I was reading unfinished work. For example in the poem‚ “When I Heard the Learned Astronomer” it was very clear on what he was talking about. However‚ it felt to me as if he had received writers block. The poem could have gone on for a couple of more stanzas. I am no poem expert‚ but I feel as if the poem could have gotten into more details about the stars‚ and the astronomer. However‚ that is just me. Another one of his poems‚ “I Hear America

Eleanor Roosevelt once said‚ "Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you’ll be criticized anyway." You have one shot at life and doing what others believe is best for you is not the way to live. My dad may not be as sophisticated as Eleanor Roosevelt‚ but they have similar ideas of how you should do what you believe is right no matter what others think. My father once told me‚ "It’s your life‚ live it the way you want to live it and do not let anyone stand in the way of your dreams; always

EN305 5 Things I’ve learned One of the first things that I have learned since I’ve been in this class was how to be better at communication. Often at times we as people seem to only think about ourselves‚ it’s not a good thing but we are human. In the world of business I am my own brand but I’m not the most important piece in the puzzle. Teamwork is the key because the same people that I see going up the ladder will most likely be the same people I see coming down. With
