Effective communication is important with children because it helps them to feel valued. It shows them that their interests and opinions are listened to. When we listen and communicate with children, this gives them more self-confidence and it also helps to increase their self-esteem, both of these being so important for their future. The child we are communicating with needs to feel at ease and be given the opportunity to communicate back with comfort and confidence.…
2.2: Describe the factors to consider when promoting effective communication. There are two different types of factors that should be considered when promoting effective communication such as: • Verbal communication- is when you use sounds and/or words to express yourself. When communicating it is important that your tone and the volume of your voice must be correct to suit the individuals situations. Most of the time it is also important to speak slowly in a calm manner so the other person gets your message correctly.…
Effective communication is important in developing positive relationships with children, young people and adults because we need to be able to listen to each other and be able to interpret what others are saying correctly. We need to be able to read their body language signs such as eye contact and the tone of voice they are using, and therefore be able to respond in the right way and show that we understand what they are saying. The giving and receiving of information whilst communicating with each other will be more effective if all people are at a similar level, meaning that nobody has more power over anyone else and there is equal power between those people. For example, if an adult and a child were to communicate, the adult could sit down…
I have worked with my current employer for six months. I work with clients with a learning disability, within a supported housing setting. My current job role is as a ‘care assistant’. I am responsible for providing support to the service user’s, which includes: Personal care, assisting with meal preparation, assisting with medication, assisting with meal planning, and maintaining records for service delivered. I received an induction training course when I first joined the company, which provided specialised training relating to the learning disability sector. I receive regular supervision with my line manager, where I can discuss any problems, and get support. I can also request training, and my manager can highlight areas where she thinks I would benefit from further training in. I attend regular refresher courses in training, so that I am up to date with the current standards required for my role. I treat all service users with respect and dignity, and my work practices reflect and promote equal opportunities. I have read, and understand my Company’s policies and procedures, and am aware of what to do in most circumstances, and the correct reporting/recording procedures to follow. I always work in a professional manner, and ensure all service user information is kept up to date, and confidential.…
Effective communication is very important in building a positive relationship with children, young people and adults. Firstly if we do not communicate then how can any kind of relationship form and develop. Depending on the situation, circumstance and setting will interpret the way we communicate and the style in which we do it. The basics may stay the same although we don’t just use words we use body language, facial expressions and gestures. We as adults are role models to children and for them to behave appropriately and to understand about relationships we need to demonstrate this. Misunderstandings and unnecessary worry could be prevented if good communication exists, developing positive relationships is very important to help achieve a happy environment. Children will learn and develop more comfortably and confidently when good relationships have been formed. While in the work place communicating effectively with our colleagues can be beneficial in our role as it demonstrates that we are able to talk about job related issues and also helps to cement strong and trusting relationships. In the school setting when dealing with parents or any others effective communication will help us to gain their support.…
Children learn communication from their parents. Communication is not something that can be studied; it is something that people have to learn by doing. As a parent, good communication needs to be emphasized as they are talking and listening to the child. A child can tell when a parent is not really listening to them, and this can create a big problem in the relationship. Children who feel misunderstood or feel like they aren't being listened to will start to hold their feelings inside. This is the exact opposite of what good communication should be.…

To begin with, I would like to relate an amusing story - Once, two mice were being chased by a cat. The two mice were - a mother mouse and a child mouse. After, quite an exhaustive chase, mother mouse in a bid to scare the cat away, started to shout like a Dog, "Bow, Bow". Immediately the cat had to give up the chase thinking some dog is chasing her. Then in a very philosophical tone the mother mouse started explaining the child mouse that sometimes learning a second language comes in handy. Though English has come to us as a foreign language in the pre-independence period, in the post-independent India it has emerged as a powerful medium of communication. Today, it stands as an indispensable language.…
Task 2 – Explain the principles off effective communication By Zain Riasat General communication skills “Understanding cultural difference, finding ways to engage an audience and being able to adapt to a situation.” Wherever you go you are bound to come across cultural differences, these can range from variety of things such as the language people use (e.g. English people say "petrol" compared to Americans who say "gasoline") to the way they greet each other (English & Americans shake hands compared to Japanese who bow) and the way they eat (some Asian countries use chopsticks instead of knives and forks).…
The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn’t being said. – Peter F. Drucker…
“Can you hear me now?” said a Verizon character in its 2002 commercials. Most people have wondered if the other person has understood them correctly. If people would practice their ability to transfer their thoughts, verbally and non-verbally, to those who are listening, and have those thoughts completely understood, they would have what is called good communication. The word “communication” comes from the Latin word “commicare”, which means to “share.” Communication is vital in different aspects of our lives, and without good communication, the world would be completely chaos.…
In a relationship, having effective communication between one another is extremely important, in order for a healthy relationship to thrive. Without effective communication the relationship would not have a strong base. When communicating effectively with loved ones it is easier to overcome problems between each other. Without effective communications we would not be able to have relationships that last. I have met some divorced people who say that their marriage ended because there was a lack in communication. How ever having effective communication does not only matter in marriages. Effective communication also plays an important role between a parent and their children. Having effective communication gives us the ability to talk to our children in a way that…

Throughout time, the ability of people to communicate with each other has progressed.
