1. How does Ben 's age affect his decision to get an MBA?

Age will be an important factor affecting his decision of getting an MBA course in multiple ways. After graduated six years ago, time has been taken off from education and invested into his career. Keeping on risingwith age and six years break from education, it will not only be more difficultto concentrate and remain good attitude towards studies, but also keep family and work responsibilities. Moreover, he would have only approximately 38 to 39 more years for work if he decides to take the program.Thisdoes not accord with his initial plan to work for 40 more years.

From the financial aspect, the opportunity cost of taking MBA program will keep increasing as his salary will rise 3% every year and thus, making the actual cost of the program costlier every year.

2. What other, perhaps non-quantifiable factors, affect Ben 's decision to get an MBA?

First of all, the working environment and his six years job experiences will affect his decision if ben is satisfied with them. This is because he must give up those by taking MBA program. On top of that, personal satisfaction or choice in terms of attending a specific school such as attendingThe Hong Kong Polytechnic University will also affect the decision of getting an MBA.In contrast, if he isnot interested in studying, he could do other things such as having another comfortable job. The decision will also be influenced by the desire of working in investment bank.

Furthermore, Ben’s marital status will affect his decision because of the expenses to raisechildren. That means the economy responsibility to his family member will affect the decision.

3. Assuming all salaries are paid at the end of each year, what is the best option for Ben –from a strictly financial standpoint?
