Personnel Management is an administrative function of an organisation that exist to provide the personnel needed for an organisation, According to “Education-Portal” personnel management also manage the general Employee-Employer Relationship.
HRM is to ensure that the organisation has the human capital it needs to accomplish its goal. “Education-portal” also states that it involves the management of people in an organisation as well as the organisation itself.
The differences between the Personnel Management and HRM is that Personnel Management represents the Traditional Approach and HRM represents the modern Approach towards managing people in an organisation
According to “CIPD” Personnel management recruits and train people in an organisation, managing Payroll, Orienting and Training of people within the organisation. While HRM helps the managers and also an integral part of the organisation.
Personnel management focus on administrating employees and workforce. HRM is to maintain the long term employee relations.

Staffing Objectives: HRM recruits and go through the selection process of employing the right amount of people needed within the organisation. Making sure they get the right people with skills needed to fulfil the right role in the organisation. Also making sure they can retain the staff they have recruited in the organisation. They could also be outsourcing particular people by getting staff needed from a recruitment agency.
Performance Objectives: Once the required workforce are in place within the organisation it now becomes the roles of the manager to play a major part by keeping the staff motivated and committed in the organisation to achieve their maximum potentials in their key roles within the organisation this could be offering Training and Development needs. Grievance, Monitoring progress of the staffs, offering Reward schemes, Employee involvement initiative, disciple are needed within the organisation to keep the staff happy and
