Could cell phones be to blame for twelve year olds laziness? Due to the amount of time spent on their phones playing games, social media, and texting twelve year olds have become extremely lazy. They think that they shouldn’t have to do any work expecting somebody will come and do it for them. Reading has now become something of the past. Even their grammar and spelling has taken a toll for the worse. Always being on
their phone is a good explanation for this.
Not only are they lazy, but they also have poor communication skills. They can’t carry on a face-to-face conversation, because they are only talking through texting. They could care less about family vacation or a family get together. All they can think about it just being on their phones, seeing who liked what, or who the latest text has come from. You can hardly do anything with them because they are distracted by their phones. However there could be a few exceptions. One exception would be if both of their parents work and they have to stay home by themselves. They would have no way to call 911 or call their parents. Also, if they had a job they would need to call their mom when they were done. So I would say these are a fine reasons to have a phone but not for all the time, only when they need it.
