Secondary education allows individuals to gain knowledge, but at the same time it can bury a person up to their eyes in debt. College or a Trade School can be great tools to broaden someone’s opportunities. Americans believe that a higher income comes with higher education. Many successful people today have little to no education, and still are able to live a lavish lifestyle. The majority of billionaires today have earned their wealth by dedication, hard work, and crucial decision making.
Not every individual with billions of dollars, who also is a productive member of society, has a secondary education. Many, if not all, people in the world today have heard of, or themselves, used Facebook and Microsoft programs. Each of these companies were created by men with no secondary education. Bill Gates, the creator of Microsoft, and Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, both attended Harvard University a highly prestigious institute, but dropped their schooling to pursue an idea that would ultimately lead them to billions. Mr. Gates and Mr. Zuckerberg both set out to get a higher education, but instead decided to make a life for themselves without it.
There are many jobs available to the average American that pay a higher income and require little to no secondary education. The men working in the oil fields are making over one hundred thousand dollars a year on just a high school education. Electrical Lineman go to school for three months to learn the basics of their trade and make over a hundred thousand as well. Wild land Firefighters can make over a hundred thousand dollars with a two year degree. American society has an idea that anyone with a higher income has a higher education, which in part is true, but there are also careers out there that can be obtained with lesser education, or none at all.
Can anyone from the street throw on a white coat, go the nearest hospital, and perform surgery? No, not
