The Russian people wanted the government to change. There had been a dramatic increase in the number of radical newspapers. Therefore, people did not want a conservative reformation, but a radical revolution. A democratic society would have a capitalist society. Capitalism would create a motivation to work. Socialism would take away the motivation to work, since everybody would get their basic necessities fulfilled. People would choose to not work at all, and they would still get food from the hard working people. Everyone needed to work to end the famine and foreign debt. Furthermore, the people did not want a socialist government, because Russia already had a system similar to socialism, it was called the commune system. When given the choice, peasants chose to leave their commune. By that logic, people would have chosen to leave a socialist government. Also, a socialist government would place too much power in the hands of the government. The government would be able to abuse their power. They could choose to export grain during a famine, like the tsar. A democratic government would have to listen to the people. Then the people could decide whether or not to export grain. A liberal and democratic government would have create the motivation to work, and given the Russian people more say in the government, ending the famine and foreign debt.
A revolution was the only way for the government to change. That revolution should have been lead, by peasants and worker, to ensure all the needs of the people
