3 Things
Mckenna Lewis 9/9/2010 3 things essay

If I could change three things in the world to make it a better place, the things that would be my

first priority to change would be to provide an equal education for everyone, fight to prevent

greenhouse gases and global warming, and to work toward world peace. An education is the

most important thing that you go through in life and benefits everyone and everything in the

end. Slowing the effects of greenhouse gas on our environment is also something that needs to

be dealt with and taken more seriously. Working toward world peace is what most people desire

and I believe that it could be achieved. These three things, if changed would make the world a

ponear perfect place.

Education is a serious problem in some parts of the world, and making it possible for anyone,

anywhere to get the same quality of education would be the first change I would make. If

everyone was educated in the same way there could be more opportunities for betterment and

improving the world. Some people are very talented at what they do and just aren’t given the

chance to improve their knowledge and go on to benefit society. These benefits could be a

number of things, such as improvement in technology and science, music, healthcare, etc.

Education eventually ends in improvement and if anyone who wants a better education has one

available at all times to them then in the long run this can only increase productivity and

improvement for society.

The second thing I would change about the world would be the ignorance about global warming

and how it is really affecting our environment. Information about global warming isn’t displayed

very often because of a lack of interest, but if nothing is done then there will be

With the global economy relying more than ever on brainpower and innovation rather than raw materials and manual labour as generators of wealth, a good education has become the key factor determining who will succeed and who will be left behind. With countries in the developing world stretching their budgets to the limit, and with education ranking low on some governments’ list of spending priorities, the odds seem to be stacked against their favour. And the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) estimates that there will be more people to educate in the next thirty years than have ever been educated up to this point in history.…

Providing affordable education for all people has many advantages. As a whole, the people in society will advance together, not leaving individuals behind. Since it will be an affordable education, it will not be specialized for specific groups of people, but for everyone, therefore, conflicts revolving around lack of education would subside, creating a more peaceful society. Furthermore, as the general populace becomes more and more educated, crime rates would decrease as well because as general statistics show, people with higher education tend to not commit crimes. With education for everyone, the work force would grow…

If I was given one hundred days and unlimited resources to change the world, the one cause I would take on would be the well-being of children and teenagers because I believe that is what truly changes the world. Children are the future of the world and if they are set into bad environments from when they are young and as they continue to grow older, that is the only way of life they know and leaves them with no options for when they reach adult hood other than criminal activity or even death.…
