Introduction:
Equality and diversity is a term used to define and elaborate equality, diversity and human rights as core defining values of the society. It enhances equality of opportunity for all, giving every individual the right to achieve their goal, free unlawfulness and discrimination. Lawfulness requires public authorities to promote equality in everything that they perform and also making sure that other organizations meet their lawful duties to promote equality while also doing so by themselves too.
1- Define Equality and Diversity and elaborate how your chosen organization has been followed the Equality and Diversity
Equality is about treating other people equally. Equal pay for equal performance is the best example. Not treating people fairly is unlawful as employees will feel undervalued and leave that organization, department or discipline. Equality is supported by law that makes it illegal to discriminate, victimize or harass employee because of a real or believed difference. Legislation covers sex, sexual orientation, ethnic background, religion and belief, disability, and age. In a society as diverse and modern as that of United Kingdom, employee has the right to be treated equally regardless of his age, cultural beliefs or gender. The New Labor Government defines equality as an inclusion and allowing people to reach their potential goals (Walsh, Stephens & Moore, 2000).
Diversity is about:
Treating individuals as like they are the heart of the business.
Creating a learning environment that provides equal learning opportunity. Also includes and values difference.
Treating people like the way they want to be treated.
Enhancing potential.
Recognizing that whenever we have unlawfulness, challenging them before happening of any unlawful act.
