Case Study # 64: The Lazy Volunteer Summary
This study revolves around the concept of respect between a teenager and elderly man. Zach Jones was a juvenile delinquent that was given a second chance. However, his appreciation was lacking. Megan Shilling and Jarrod Blake, both little league players, were standing in a lengthy line at the concession stand. Bailey was even given this opportunity. In her mind, he shouldn’t have been working if business was going to be backed up. Steve, Megan’s father and director, explained that the line was backed up due to Zach Jones. Zach was serving as a volunteer and did not appreciate Mr. Bailey’s act of kindness to help him. Although this is a good gesture, it is raising concerns with the parents as they are paying a nice amount of money for their children to play baseball. Mr. Steve has already had an issue with the parents and is not looking forward to having another one. In order for Mr. Steve to maintain an effective role as a leader, he must develop certain strategies. These strategies will assist him in making the right decision concerning this matter. It is only with these strategies that he will be able to maintain a solid foundation to stand firm
