They’re constantly afraid to fail or make a mistake because of the chance that they will be yelled at for making their mistake instead of having help fixing it. At this age, teens are expected to know what they’re going to do after high school and what university they’re planning to attend. If they don’t know there is pressure to find a school or a job. They are also expected to keep their grades up so they can be accepted into the school of their choice. In addition, they would either need to get a scholarship or a part time job so they can afford to go to their chosen school after. This constantly leaves teenagers anxious, and pushing themselves for perfection, and beating themselves up about it if they can’t achieve it. Due to the stress teenagers face, some retract completely, leading to a drop in their grades. With respect being held in such high regard, it seems almost bewildering that the exact opposite is a common happening to teenagers.Teenagersare most commonly known for their reputation of being extremely conceited and disrespectful. This stereotype is embedded in the minds of a vast majority of adults. Adults are usually hostile towards teenages or constantly reminding them that they’re superior in comparison. Also, it is constantly forgotten that tennagers are intelligent and have opinions that are valid, so a lot of thoughtful, and well developed opinions teenagers have are often discarded due to the fact that they fall into an age group that’s considered “too young”. This is a very dangerous mindset that adults are constantly participating in, due to the fact that it discourages teenagers from expressing, or even having their opinion when they’re adults. Moreover, it could encourage them to treat future teenagers with the same amount of disrespect when they’re older, which is deconstructive to both sides. Not only do teenagers deal with a repeatedly flippant attitude from adults, they have to endure the doubt that these stereotypes have instilled in
