Andrea, I like the paragraph you pulled from the book because it really sheds light on the major changes of how life is lived now. To Ish, the great disaster is something he has experiences first hand where the younger members of the tribe have only heard of what happened. As generations continue the great disaster becomes history, another event in a book. The first hand experience is gone because all who lived during it have pasted. There is a world of difference between experiencing something and being told about something. It reminds me of 9/11, being that freshmen entering high school this past year are the first class to learn about 9/11 as history because they were not alive during it. It’s a foreign concept for me to think that student…
As we all know, on September 11, 2001 Muslim terrorists attacked the United Stated. They hijacked 4 airplanes in mid-flight. The first 2 planes flew right into 2 skyscrapers at the World Trade Center in New York City. Obviously, the buildings caught fire and collapsed. The third plane demolished part of the Pentagon (the US military headquarters) in Arlington, Virginia. The final plane crashed in Shanks Ville, Pennsylvania. Both articles agreed that exactly 19 terrorists hijacked the 4 planes; and that the attack was made by Al Qaeda, which was led by Osama bin Laden.…

The September 11 attacks were a series of suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States. On the morning of the attacks 19 of Al-Qaeda’s terrorists hijacked four jet airliners. The hijackers then crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board and many of those who were working in the buildings. Both of the buildings collapsed within two hours of the collisions. Because of the collapse nearby buildings were damaged, even destroyed. The hijackers crashed the third airplane into the Pentagon which is located in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane was crashed into a field near Shanksville in Pennsylvania after some of its passengers attempted to retake control of the plane. Unfortunately…
George W Bush had a very big political background, so it wasn’t surprising when he ran for presidency and won. He was born on July 6, 1946, making him a member of the “baby boom” generation, born after WWII. He was the first born of Barbara Pierce Bush and George Herbert Walker Bush. They nicknamed him ‘Georgie’. He had 5 siblings; Pauline Robinson Bush, John Ellis Bush, Neil Mallon Bush, Marvin Pierce Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. Although they were wealthy, George HW wanted an adventurous career. Therefore, they moved to West Texas where he accepted a job offer from his friend in an oil corporation. In 1950, the Bushes moved to Midland. There, they contributed so much to the community. Soon, George decided to go into the oil business for himself. Sometimes, he would take Georgie along with him to the old fields. In 1952, the Bush family moved again. Also in 1952, Grandfather Prescott Bush, back in Connecticut, ran for election to the US Senate. Although Texas was fiercely Democratic, George Bush organized a local Republican committee and campaigned enthusiastically for General Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower (Gormley 11).…
1. The strong point of the movie is that it shows the parallel worlds of Lana and her uncle Paul. They both are people who try to help the world be a better place and they both end up in horrible situations in two very important cities in the United States. Lana is in Los Angeles volunteering at a Christian homeless shelter and Paul who is a Vietnam veteran tries to prevent Los Angeles from attacks just like 9/11. He suspects everyone who is of Arabic origin. They meet each other when a Pakistani gets brutally murdered. The best part of the movie is the well-assembled scenes, they are very dynamic, and that makes it that the two storylines come together so nicely. The Paul’s character is very tragic, he has suffered so much trauma in his life,…

The September 11th incident that took place in New York City changed the entire justice system in the United States. On September 11, 2001, four planes crashed in the World Trade Center in New York. The other two planes crashed in The Pentagon and in a field in Pennsylvania. Many people were shocked and could not believe it, some cried and others were mad that someone could do such a thing, which was all caused by a man named Osama Bin Laden. In reply, the government wanted to strike back and make them pay the price. Later, the government’s response was criticized by people like Cindy Sheehan who believed that the war was a bad idea and also like the newspaper, who also thought that it would be a bad idea.…
The threat of terrorism has been spreading across the world. One of the biggest attack happened in United State. The September 11 attacks also referred to as 911. The terrorists hijacked four passenger airliners and they used to flow into buildings for a suicidal attack. Two of those planes were crashed into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center. A third plane was crashed into the Pentagon. The fourth plane was targeted at Washington, D.C. but crashed into a field. The attack brought fear to Americans mind. Nevertheless, many people lose their family and suffered from 9/11. However United States has always been wondering to both strike and terminate the terrorists across global, or increase homeland…
