A Blank Canvas Analysis

We are not a fully blank canvas. Our canvas is rich, colorful,

dynamic, and has stretched and grown. We have history and

scenery. There are backdrops to previous motives and decisions.

There are characters who have played pivotal roles. There is

inspiration and muse. There is function and dysfunction. There are

patterns, perspective, and confusion. There is ripped up, thrown

away failure. There is pride in perseverance and success. There is

surface and depth. There is audacity and risk. There is focus and

there is chaos. There is care and passion. There is exhaustion. There

are close-ups, bird’s eye, and big picture views. There is messiness.

There is cleanup. There is misunderstanding. There are good

intentions. There is experience
and novice. There is reflection,

feedback, and redesign. There is freshness and richness in new

ideas. There were contributions to the past. There will be

contributions to the future. There is value in what every creative

mind has to offer to the canvas as we imagine it going forward.

Herein all of these elements lies unexplored possibility. Let’s bring all that we have gathered and contribute to a clean, growing, new, blank

canvas. Dream big. With student learning at the core, every thought is a possibility.
